Aeonian Sorrow

The Greek band Aeonian Sorrow was formed almost five years ago by (beautiful) singer Gogo Malone, whom you might know from Gothic Death Metal act Luna Obscura. She started this outfit to have her own ideas canalised into own songs, and soon she got accompanied by other (talented) musicians from Greece, Colombia and Finland.

Neraterrae

I was truly thrilled and aroused when I heard about the follow-up of 2019’s The Substance Of Perception, which I do consider one of that year’s highlights when it comes to the more ritualistic and darkened side of Ambient. That album was the official debut by Neraterræ, an outfit by Italian musician Alessio Antoni.

Hymnambulae

Exactly three years after the release of the debut album Orgelhuset, Swedish duo Hymnambulae returned with their sophomore full length album, Nausikaa. Hymnambulae is a project by the siblings Åsa and Pär Boström, who both run the small yet very fine label Hypnagoga Press. And it is their own label that also released this second studio recording under the Hymnambulae moniker.

Cryfemal

If you’re known as Ebola, you are of no importance anymore since the latest form of corona-virus, SARS-CoV-2 (causing the covid-19 pandemic, for those who lived on another planetary system lately), sort of took over our Mater Terra. WTF is ‘ebola’ doing right now, since that new epidemic disease from the Far East conquers our planet???

Gnaw Their Tongues

I will keep this review’s introduction very succinct, for I sort of did introduce Noise artist (hehe, sounds cheesy) Mories a couple of times before in reviews for acts like Aderlating, De Magia Veterum, Cloak Of Altering or Gnaw Their Tongues. You can search for it (by entering that moniker in the “search” tab), you can think you know everything, you might pretend as if you don’t care, you xxx [self-censorship]

Ars Veneficium

I am not going to write any introduction on this band, nor the label, for you can check out one of the former reviews I did for this band or label. When it comes to Ars Veneficium, see the links below; for the label, you can enter the name in the ‘search’-tab and so on…

Alphaxone

I am not going to introduce this project anymore – I did it a couple of times in the (recent) past (links: see below). But let’s be sure that I am always somehow aroused when I notice that Alphaxone did release something new. Just in short, FYI: it is an outfit by Iran-born musician Mehdi Saleh, very closely related to the mighty Cryo Chamber label.

Abigorum

Well, this was something I did look forward to so passionately! When Aleksey Korolyov told me there would be a new Abigorum album, I couldn’t wait to listen to it. I was (and still am) very impressed by all former material he created under this moniker. But there was more. Apparently he did not create this album on his own anymore. No, this time he co-operated with some other musicians, turning Abigorum from a solo-outfit into a real band.

Abduction

Phil Illsley used to be the lead vocalist in Lordaeron for several years, and he’s involved with bands such as Taken By The Tide or Death Tripper too. But as A|V, he recently started the project Abduction. This solo-outfit is modestly productive, for Abduction recently released a new full-length album, the third one in nearly two years. The working title of that recording is All Pain Is Penance.

Satanath & Striborg

Sometimes a prophetic message is written in the starlight. A gathering of divine spirits, a stronghold of celestial deities, a revelation of astral and cosmic energy; it is like Space and Time being somehow gathered to purport the contemplation of a majestic occurrence. It comes in an aural form, unphysical, impregnable, unassailable.
