Words Of Farewell

Germany’s Words Of Farewell were formed during the first half of the former decade. When they recorded and released the debut Immersion, they gained lots of positive attention all over the world. I wasn’t that enormously enthusiastic with that first full length studio album (see update July 8th 2012) (which, by the way, was released via AFM Records too), but I surely did not dislike it either.

Sinbreed

Sinbreed is the project around 27 year old Guitarist Flo Laurin who joined forces with dedicated artists of the European metal scene. The members are Frederik Ehmke [Blind Guardian] on drums, Hebie Langhans [Seventh Avenue] on vocals, Alexander Schulz on bass and Flo Laurin who handles guitars and keys.

Iron Savior

Three years have passed since the release of Iron Savior’s previous album ‘The Landing’, but now they’re back with their latest masterpiece ‘Rise Of The Hero’ .

Brainstorm

Brainstorm was founded in 1989 by Torsten Ihlenfeld, Milan Loncaric and drummer Dieter Bernert. The first few years of their life cycle saw the band build a solid groundwork with several demo releases and live appearances. In 1997, the band signed their first record deal and released the self-produced Hungry”album witch received good critics.

Vanishing Point

You have to go back to 2007 for the previous album from Vanishing Point. Why It took them this long is anyone’s guess.  Of course to say this band is prolific is an understatement. This is only their fifth since their formation in the early nineties.

Ektomorf

Ektomorf Was founded in 1993 in Hungary. Line up Zoltan Farkas (vocals, guitar), Zsabolcs Murvai (bass), Tomi Schrottner (guitar) and Robert Jaska (drums) playing some groove metal – Neo – Trash metal. The Danish producer Tue Madsen (Antfarm Studio) produced their albums sinds 2003. Madsen helped the band to find their very own, super fat, modern and powerful sound that EKTOMORF evolved since “Destroy” (2004) steadily.

Iron Mask

As many of you will know by now, Iron Mask is the more popular side-project of Belgian Neo-Classical Power Metal guitarist Dushan Petrossi (of Magic Kingdom), formed in 2002 (with MK bassist Vassili Moltchanov also joining in the band, Youri De Groote behind the keyboards, and Phil Letaw as lead singer) and for which Petrossi signed to Finnish label Lion Music.

Wolfpakk

Wolfpakk is a project from Michael Voss whom you should now not only from his work with German band Mad Max but also from the many albums he’s produced, and Mark Sweeney (ex Crystal Ball).

Onslaught

Would you know...just when UK Speed Thrashers Onslaught wanted to go out on a major European tour in support of their previous album (Sounds Of Violence, review by yours truly with update since my review of the band's 2007 comeback album, posted 02/02/2011), one of the band's oldest members, drummer Steve Grice (whom was at the basis of the band's reformation in 2005) decides to quit.

Rhapsody Of Fire

In 1997 the Italian metal band Rhapsody Of Fire released their debut album, Legendary Tales. Witch didn’t turned out like they wanted it to. So In the years that followed, the founding members Luca Turilli and Alex Staropoli, together with vocalist Fabio Lione, worked on their style and Incorporated classical music, baroque sounds and metal.
