Malmort

For quite some time Malmort, hailing from the Rhône-Alpes region in the East of France, are terrorizing the scene, but Vox In Excelso actually is the band’s first full length release despite about a decade of existence. Hass Weg Productions did send me over this 2012-release, as well as 2014’s Excerpta Funebris, so I will review both of them, of course.

Funeral Of God

Funeral Of God are an Italian act that were formed in 2010 by Paolo ‘Odio’ Cerretini, also involved with extreme acts such as Mincer, In League With Satan, Glioblastoma, G.N.C. or Red Bible Black. Soon Paolo (bass and lead guitars, drum programming) got joined by Ukrainian artist Mariya Popyk.

Dark Fury

This Story Happened Before… It’s the damn truth! It did happen before. Many times. In Europe, in Asia, in America. Centuries, many centuries ago it happened. Last year it happened in Paris. And now, Brussels… Leaders of Europe: pay attention! This story happened before and it might happen again!

Mortalium

Hailing from the city of Kharkiv, Ukraine, Mortalium did debut in very early 2011 with the EP On The Broken Wings (though it was available before in digital format too). Metal Renaissance did release this band’s debut full length in Spring 2013 (with one of the most fabulous covers I know!), and now, with a slightly adapted line-up, Mortalium return with the sophomore full length, Obligate Loneliness.

Z'EV

Stefan Weisser, the human being behind Z’EV, began performing music when he was still a little child. He got his first drum set when he was just six years of age. In mean time he grew up to a conceptual artist, dancer, poet, composer and musician. In 1997 he moved over from California to the city of New York, and then he started acting under the Z’EV-moniker. During the first half of the eighties, he did release some works under that name, and then Z’EV went silent for a decade.

Lifeless

There are several bands or projects called Lifeless, but this review deals with a side-project of Sacrimoon, an outfit by Mexican multi-instrumentalist Nergot. He’s the unhappy soul behind projects such as Black Whispers, Dismal Suffering, Traurigkeit or Broken Life too, all of them being sonic expressions of joy and happiness.

Sadness (The Rain That Falls Alone...)

Sometimes it’s just incomprehensible that musicians can be enormously productive. Such an example is Damien Anton Ojeda aka Elisa aka E., born in Mexico and currently living in Oak Park, Illinois. He is active in several solo-projects, such as the new outfit Left Alone… or Born An Abomination, and used to release material under names such as Aevilian, A Nightlit Poesy, Iniquitous Depression and Evocative Atmosphere too.

Morkesagn

Morkesagn are a relatively young quartet from Ukraine’s capital city Kiev, consisting of Heydvald (bass), Ekvil (vocals and guitars), Heisenbeard (drums), and Farn (guitars and backing vocals). Where The Darkness Never Ends is their first album, independently released the digital way and on CD via Farn Black Productions (I guess it’s owned by this band’s guitar player) with additional distribution assistance of Turkey’s Merdümgiriz.

Alphaxone

The name of Simon Heath might ring a bell to many Industrial-fans, for this is the guy behind top-act Atrium Carceri. I also recollect his name from mighty Za Frûmi, and he’s involved with projects such as Sabled Sun, Abnocto or Knaprika too, if I’m not mistaken. Besides, Simon runs the Cryo Chamber label, which sort of came to the foreground after the painful, sad surcease of Cold Meat Industry.

Womb

The Spanish guys from Womb (a band that includes members from e.g. Winterstorm, Vikingore or Windblown) initially released their debut full length album Deception Through Your Lies at the end of May 2015 in its digital form. On November 30th Doom-giant Solitude Productions release that material on CD, in a co-operation with Hypnotic Dirge Records, and this in an edition of 500 copies.
