Formed in 2008 in Denmark, Cerekloth recorded two fantastic EP’s, Pandemonium Prayers and Halo Of Syringes, respectively in 2008 and 2011, both of them released through Hells Headbangers. And like most Hells Headbangers stuff, I did really like this material.

This thirty eight-minute record won’t disappoint either, but it differs from the past. It might sound much darker, more dense and oppressive, more autumnal and suffocating than before, but actually the core remains the same: obscure, energetic, haunting, and at the same time traditional Melodic Death Metal. The whole is much more atmospheric and less fast, but at least as grooving and straight-forward as ever before, with a melodic rhythm that covers the whole in such an eerie mist. It’s asphyxiating, and that’s what I do like!

For sure a new chapter in this band’s history, but a wonderful step into a new deadly dimension. (I know, this delineation might seem rather stupid, but it’s difficult to express my amaze and appreciation for such a grand evolution).
