After Mexican bands Omision and Blodfest split up, some members formed Infernal Conjuration in 2006. Soon after, they released a first demo, followed by their debut EP in 2010 (Auto Da Fe, released via Blood Harvest). In mean time they recruited a new guitar player, and the quartet (Josue Luna, Emmanuel Luna, Hazael and Adrian Miranda) recorded their second EP, called Death Has Appeared… It gets released on CD via the strong Polish label Gruft Prodüktion, in collaboration once again with another Polish top-distributor, Old Temple, and there is a vinyl-edition too, available via Mexican Craneo Negro Records.

This EP consists of five tracks, amongst which a Mortuary-cover (Abyss Angel), having a total running time of about twenty three minutes. And what these guys bring with this record is the purest definition of Old School! Remember the glorious days when the Thrash and Death scene were conquering the world? Well, this is the sonic expression of that era. Fierce yet melodic leads, melodious bass lines, pounding rhythm guitars, energetic drums and grunts right from Hell… Fast and blasphemous thrashing pieces at the one hand, and slower, morbid ones at the other… But there might be one difference, but that’s pretty evident. That’s the sound, which is pretty ‘full’, but of course, aren’t we living in the 21st century in mean time. But the greatness of that sound is that the production still has its raw and rough, unpolished edges.

The band seems to be heavily influenced by Possessed; especially Vanquish The Creed and Trapped In A Portal have quite some similarities, yet without sounding like a cheap copycat. Also Mortem (the one from Peru, evidently), Autopsy, Massacre and even Morgoth might come to mind. As a matter of fact, Infernal Conjuration’s range is so extended, that they seem to be inspired by both the European, North and South American scenes. Yet still they easily come with their own interpretation of the Old School, and not only for that self-developed sound, yet also for their fabulous compositions, this band is more than just worth listening to. As a matter of fact, Death Has Appeared… is one of the best Eighties-inspired albums this year in years.
