Greek band Kult Of Taurus did release a demo, an EP and a split before, and Divination Labyrinths is the combo’s debut full length studio recording, which lasts for thirty two minutes. The material was mixed and mastered by Yusaf Parvez aka Viper aka Vicotnik, known from Dødheimsgard, Ved Buens Ende, Code, Manes, Strid and many other notorious yet slightly unusual and extreme acts. And he certainly put his mark on the album’s result.

This material stands for a grim, occult, raging and slightly experimental form of Underground Black Metal. The experimental part of the deal has to do with the few additions of somewhat progressive chords, the technical riffs, the unforeseen breaks, the massive power of sound, and the many changes in tempo in melody and song structure. Besides, the album includes several industrialised, Post-oriented and / or ambient intermezzos. No, it’s not of the Ephel Duath or Extol-oriented kind, yet rather comparable to stuff in the vein of Dødheimsgard, Ved Buens Ende, Code and the likes. …told you before ‘bout the influence of Vicotnik, didn’t I?... Mix it with Greek elements taken from the likes of Naer Mataron (once again an entity Vicotnik worked with), Necromantia, Acherontas and Zemial, and you might have a clue what this stuff stands for.

Oh yes, I’d like to refer to the sound too: raspy and raw, unpolished and rusty, yet for sure it does complete this anti-clinical form of Nineties-inspired Black Filth Majesty.
