Fuck You And Your Eyes was the first release on Skullhouse, one of the sub-labels of Legs Akimbo. This label focuses on Grind / Noise / Speedcore / Splatter beauty, and in the near future a couple of other reviews will pass… But first things first, and that’s this tape by UK-based act Spastic Burn Victim.

Fuck You And Your Eyes was recorded in 2014 at the Rats Nest Studio with Sam Threader, and it got concretised by the sweet line-up of Zara Skumshot, Sax Pest, Jason Cineration, Dr Age, Rüpel and Alex Monad. The tape brings twenty eight lullabies that last in between a couple of seconds and one minute and a half, leaving us with less than twenty minutes of ear-candy. Though, I guess it might suffice, for not only the weak-hearted ones amongst us must avoid any contact with this outfit; the strongest heroes from humanity’s population too might wish they hadn’t ever experienced this recording…

What Spastic Burn Victim bring with Fuck You And Your Eyes is a totally frenzy mixture of Grind, Noise, Jazz and every possible form of catatonic and cacophonous experiment. Hints of Grinding Death Metal, crusty Grindcore, f*cked-up Electronics and Crust-Punk-PsychoGrind-Speedcore-Grindethics get combined with totally disturbed fragments that include saxophone (a main instrument on this recording – hello Mr. Zorn?!?!?! – the sax gets used as a main instrument throughout the whole journey) and, I guess, other ‘unusual’ instruments, combined with the vocal core / chords of Grind / Hardcore / Noise-punk nastiness (shouts and screams from the belly). Especially those f*cked up vocals, the crazy sax, the weird bass lines, the electronic drum devices and the hints of Power-Electronics and Speedcore-injected Noise characterise this band’s approach, and whether you like it or not: Fuck You And Your Eyes is a monument within its specific scene.
