I just noticed – and that’s a pity – that I did not write down my thoughts on the self-titled debut by Pillar Amongst Willows, which was released in very early 2025 via Centipede Abyss. But I’ll make it right up by reviewing the second release by this one-man project, called Kindred Odyssey, which got released as well via the Centipede Abyss label more or less one year after that nameless debut album.
Lux Sine Lumine, which is Latin for ‘light without light’, is a project by Eri Nthentropy aka Yydraah aka Ni (or just Nathalie, haha), the directing entity behind the unique Centipede Abyss community and partner of Pan Inentropy. She’s active in acts like Zvylpwkua, Act Of Entropy or Ukakuja (all Centipede Abyss combos) as well, for your (extremely important) information.
Another shorter one, this review, but I feel like this one being a necessary one, because Ishimura and Centipede Abyss recently released a second album (Msster). Therefor…
Short introduction: Vertebrae Fetish Totem is the name of one of the many projects that involves Jared Moran aka Plaguehammer. As close member within the Centipede Abyss community, it is not a miracle at all to see that this newest Vertebrae Fetish Totem album gets released by Centipede Abyss once more, just like the former releases (Cult, Alchemy and Rituals).
[shorter review, but a fairly required necessity for sure!]
It was written in the stars: Centipede Abyss and Apothecary were meant to join forces sooner or later. I am glad that it is not that much ‘later’, even though ‘sooner’ would have been nice too. But I won’t complain, for here we have it: the first (…and hopefully not the last) result of this unholy marriage…
Mirroring eyes with a hollowing moth…
As we do all know, the Centipede Abyss community consists of bands with strong relationships in between the members. Okay, not all projects share musicians, yet many (most) of them are like an intra-familial gathering. With Zvylpwkua it is not different. This North-Atlantic outfit (I mean, the members hail from both the United Kingdom and the United States) still consists of Ionnonnisssz (involved as well with e.g.
The Centipede Abyss is a strongly upcoming community for Extreme (Metal) Music acts with an outsider-thinking attitude. Several musicians share different collaborative acts, showing the inherent and strong connectedness in between these same-minded (or is it: lunatic-minded) human beings.
One of Australia’s most characteristic acts must be Blacnk (no, this ‘name’ has not been misspelled), a one-man outfit by an unidentified human (?) creature from Perth, named Grey Blacnk. In quite a short time, he recorded some unique albums, combining grim Black Metal aesthetics with psychedelic elements. The most recently recorded Blacnk album, Sleeping Under Clouds Of Gripping Anguish, is the first that gets released in partnership with Centipede Abyss.
