A Canorous Quintet were formed during the very early nineties as A Canorous Quartet as, indeed, a quartet.

The origins of Swedish band EntrailS (not the one from the very same country, but hailing from the city of Avesta, at the North of Stockholm; ‘ours’ is the one from Linneryd, at the South of Sweden) go back to Winter 1990/1991. A couple of friends wanted to play Death Metal in the Sunlight-vein, but things didn’t seem to turn out very well. The members rehearsed a lot, but after some time, half of the quartet decided to quit to concentrate on other musical projects, and shortly after EntrailS were put to rest.

Our dearest Concreteweb’s headquarters did recently receive a cd-r / mp3 with seven Folk-oriented albums. As a matter of fact, Strawberry Oracle Promotions will give some renewed attention to seven bands / projects within the Folk scene by having this material put on the foreground again. It deals with both recent as well as pretty old recordings, and in order to give this stuff a boost, I will be so kind to have it reviewed.

Norwegian project Weh is a mainly acoustic Folk project by Erik Evju, who wanted to create a mixture of darkened feelings and natural emotions. Under the moniker Weh, Erik recorded and released a first demo / EP in 2002, called The Death, and it received very positive reactions in Norway as well as in the rest of the world. 2003 saw the release of a second demo, called All The Sinners Are Sleeping Now, followed in 2004 by demo # 3, The Coffee’s Cold In The Morning, The Beer’s Warm At Night.

Hells headbangers are so kind to compile, and release, some stuff once provided on vinyl before, by ultra-active entity NunSlaughter. More specific: this first part of the The Devil Congeries series consists of material taken from thirteen 7”EP’s, amongst which some split material and live stuff. …Volume 1 offers you twenty nine ‘songs’ that were studio-recorded, and the same number of tracks that were recorded live and released under the Hell On-moniker.

Lacrimas Profundere from Germany are back with a new release on Napalm Records, called Antiadore, which has a total running time of forty five minutes. And I’ll be honest: I’ve never been a huge amateur of this band. This album won’t change my opinion. For the better part, Antiadore goes on in the vein of some of the latest records like Songs For The Last View or The Grandiose Nowhere.

This review deals with a re-issued release of Californian act Insanity. This band was formed during the eighties and one of the (many) American acts back then that played Death Metal in its purest form, yet unmodestly injected with furious Thrash-nastiness. They recorded some demonstrational material, and in 1994 they were finally able to release their debut full length, Death After Death, via the very small and shortly living German label M.B.R. Records.

Despite the title, The Uncreated Demo isn’t just a demonstrational effort by Hod. It’s a real teaser for the upcoming Book Of The Worm album, which will come out later this year (I hope I will have the opportunity to review the stuff, dear website’s Master Chief). I was, for your interest, pleased and surprised by Serpent, which came out at the very end of 2009 (see review posted on March 13^th 2010).

Dutch Heretic were formed in North Brabant, Holland, in 1995. Throughout the past years, they recorded a handful of (excellent) albums: Black Metal Holocaust (1999), Devilworshipper (2003), and after a temporary split Gods Over Humans, Slaves Under Satan (2008); they also released some splits (e.g.

About one year after the magisterial record Encirclement, Finland’s Decaying release their third full length via Hellthrasher Records from Poland. With The Last Days Of War, the quartet (guitar player / vocalist Matias Nastolin, bassist Sebastian Bergman, guitarist Henri Hirvonen, and drummer Benjam Lahdenpää) plays on in the vein of the former stuff, both musically and lyrically.
