Indian

If I'm reading my info sources correctly, this Chicago based Blackened Sludge-Noise act was founded in 2003 by the trio of singer/ guitarist Dylan O'Toole, bassist Ron Devries, and drummer Brian Lynn, and in that line-up not only self-released their 3-track 11-minute debut EP God Slave, but also their (11-track, 54-minute) debut album The Unquiet Sky, issued in May 2005 on the Seventh Rule Recordings label.

Culted

Okay...so the story of the formation of this band is somewhat peculiar, but also not unthinkable in these days of Internet communications. You know, the four members of Culted have never actually been together in one room, but is that actually such an amazing feat? I mean, if musicians from different sides of the globe can contribute to songs written by others, why could they not switch ideas back an forth in order to write music together? I mean, it's been done before, you know!

Wolvserpent

With Perigaea Antahkarana, the Drone Death duo (singer/ guitarist/ keyboardist Blake Green and drummer/ violinist Brittany McConnell) known as Wolvserpent releases its sophomore full-length, and its debut for Relapse Records.

Ulcerate

As I was listening to this album for the first time, the first though that came through my mind was, “You see, I was right, this IS that infamous Death Metal act from New Zealand! So why in hell...” (I was trying to stay in the appropriate frame of mind there) “...didn't the editor-in-chief hand over the album to my Death Metal loving colleague, Ivan?” The lame answer to that would be, that The Chief simply looses sight on whàt should go to which of his collaborators, as he simply gets swamped with work thanks to all the downloading to be done!

Windhand

Founded in late 2008 by former Alabama Thunderpussy guitarist Asechiah Bogdan, alongside singer Dorthia Cottrell, second guitarist Garrett Morris, bassist Nathan Hilbish, and drummer Jeff Loucks, this Richmond, Virginia based Stoner/ Doom Metal act first had itself heard of with their self-titled 2-track demo, recorded in the rehearsal space and released in limited copies (only 80 made) in August 2010.

Primitive Man

Primitive Man are a new act from Denver, Colorado, debuting with this forty-minute long album Scorn. And I won’t spend too many words on this noisy grandeur. Just read this:

True Widow

True Widow is a three piece Texas, US outfit that embodies the spirit of 90s shoe gaze rock within a very laid back and sonically valium drapery.
