Tony Mills

If Tony Mills, a fantastic rock vocalist, hadn’t been resurrected after his heart attack in a Norwegian airport, we would have never had this album.  But he made a narrow escape, and now hits us with this fantastic album. Who in the hard rock/metal worldt hasn’t heard of this guy.  He played with countless bands, such as Siam, China Blue, Serpentine, and was vocalist for Norwegian band TNT between 2006 and 2014.

Monnik

Belgian one-man outfit Monnik (Dutch for ‘monk’) debuts with Vondeling (which means ‘foundling’) on the magic / magisterial label ConSouling Sounds. That choice isn’t an accidental coincidence at all, for this solo-outlet by Charnia’s vocalist Thibaud perfectly fits to this label’s roster.

Krakow

Krakow are a band from the productive city of Bergen, Norway. They now return with their third album, Amaran, which has a total running time of forty four minutes. The stuff was recorded at the Solslottet and Duper Studio with producer Iver Sandøy (he did some studio duties for the likes of Enslaved too) and features new drummer Ask Ty Arctander, whom you might know from his (former or current) activities in e.g. Mactätus or Kampfar.

Hasse Fröberg & Musical Companion

Who the heck is Hasse Fröberg I asked myself, when I got this CD to review.  As it turns out – after some googling, Hasse Fröberg  is the current vocalist/guitarist of Swedish band the Flower Kings, and before that he toured with Swedish hard rock band Spellbound.  When his band Flower Kings decided to put the activities on low for some time, he decided to form his own band and since he had some material left he had written, but was not quite suite for the Flower Kings.  They started in 200

Fire Within

Fire Within is a fairly recent Dutch metal band, who have just released this album, their debut so far.

I was surprised at the quality of this album, a mix of power rock, hard rock and symphonic metal.  The only minor point for me are the vocals, who are lacking a bit in power.

Dark Fury

In quite an interesting parcel recently send to our headquarters, Lower Silesian Stronghold’s label owner Krzysztof included several Dark Fury-albums. Undersigned was quite ‘happy’, for I truly adored the album Synningthwait (check out the review on the update of July 21st 2014).

Chalice Of Blood

On June 7th we did an update for the split 7”EP in between Israthoum and Chalice Of Blood, released too via Daemon Worship Productions. Both bands contributed with a great track – but read the review yourself and find out…

Alastor Sanguinary Embryo

That’s one of the many things I like about Satanath Records: they are so diverse on several matters: a huge stylistic roster (from Grindcore over Death Metal to Black Metal and Thrash, as well as Ambient, Post-Rock etc.). But their open-mindedness goes further, in search of projects and bands from all over the world. This time we have to cope with a release from a band from Costa Rica, of all places! But do not expect white-sandy beaches, sweet cocktails and happy-tuned music – but you surely wouldn’t expect me to write about such thing…

36 Crazyfists

The four-piece Alaskan metal band is back. They released a new album last month entitled “Time And Trauma”. The band members actually originated from the remains of three local bands: Grin, Hessian, and Broke. JD Stuart played in Grin, Brock Lindow in Hessian, and Steve Holt and Ryan Brownell in Broke.
