Founded in 2009, OMSQ is a Brussels based band combining elements of Space Rock with Sludge and Noise Metal, doin' most of its material in instrumental mode, and using samples for its "vocal" parts.

Falgar are a one-man army from the exotic isle of Puerto Rico. It was formed in 2007 in the capital San Juan by Etienne Goldberg, formerly in Amenofis. After two demos (in 2007 and 2008), Falgar released a first EP, I Was Welcomed By Death (2008), shortly after followed by the debut full length, called Paths Which You Seek (2009).

Casket Music/ Copro Records – Catch-up, part One!

Древо aka Drevo are a Russian project by Egor ‘Jarogor’ Chernyshov, with two full lengths released in 2008. One of them, called Велuчuе (Velichie), was the second release for what I think is one of the most interesting labels lately, Kunsthauch. Since the Kunsthauch headquarters were so kind to send this album to our HQ, I will be so kind, of course, to have this album reviewed, despite its age.

Casket Music/ Copro Records – Catch-up, part One! (for details, see review David J. Caron)Getting straight into the nitty-gritty of things, Audiobreed is a Heavy Rock/ Southern Rock/ Stoner Rock act founded in Piraeus (Athens), Greece, during the year 2008.

The origins of London-based, yet Polish-rooted Scutum Crux go back to 2003, but it wasn’t until 2011 before they released anything ‘decent’. Their self-titled promo / demo drew attention of Belgian label Immortal Frost, and the band released its debut (and until now their sole full length, if I am not mistaken; anyway, do they still exist?...) via this great label.

There has always been a second tier of bands like ‘Overkill’, ‘Testament and Exodus’ that never quite reached as great a level of commercial success.

Ondfødt are a very young Finnish band that self-released an EP called I in 2013. Unfortunately I haven’t heard this material, but the three tracks from that EP appear on this album.

Well, within ‘music’ it is easy to label something as ‘beautiful’. It has to do with personal, subjective preferences. I won’t come with a philosophical essay about this subject, but this introduction is helpful to understand what Subscribers Of Death stands for. Why? Because this simply is the aural definition for ‘beautiful music’.

Falconer began after the splitting up of the viking metal band Mithotyn. Guitarist Stefan Weinerhall wanted to continue making folk-influenced metal music, but with clean vocals instead of the harsh style used in Mithotyn. In 1999 he began recording demo tapes, performing the guitar and bass lines himself, while using a drum machine and playing the vocal melodies on guitar.
