I recently reviewed the compilation album Vengeance Hell Immemorial (see update July 2013) by Singaporean Extreme Metal project Impiety, built around Mister Shyaithan.

Voice Of Revenge are a band from Würzburg, Germany, that were formed in 2005 by guitarist Peter Kretschmer and vocalist / guitar player Thomas Döll. In 2007, they self-released an impressing EP, called Mutilated Corpse, which led them to great festivals, such as Bringer Of Death or Riders Of The Storm.

Teloch Vovin are a young quintet (Pestis, G/, Proph, Jos-sothoth and Gemini) from the New York City environment. They debut with a full length studio record intelligently titled I, which will be released in 333 copies only. Like the band’s moniker might indicate (this goes for the members’ nicknames as well, of course), the approach is based on occultism and mystery.

When it comes to ‘our kind’ of Music, the presence of J.R.R. Tolkien has been a constant element. Long before the current hype, caused by the Lord Of The Rings-motion picture trilogy (and now The Hobbit), ‘we’ extracted tolkienish elements into ‘our’ sonic experiments. Bands and projects were named after beings, entities, places, histories etc. from the many stories by this famous fantasy writer, and so were ‘artist names’. Several bands, however, not just used those names to label themselves or their project.

This Norwegian Thrash Metal act was started as a project in late 2008/ early 2009 by Askoey (Bergen) based Jarle H Olsen (lead guitar) and Frank Natäs (rhythm guitar & backing vocals).

This Rio De Janeiro based Brazilian Heavy Metal act was formed in 2009 by former Reckoning members Guilherme Sevens (vocals, also formerly with Death Box and It Sows Within), Carlos Eduardo Salone (guitar, also formerly of Neutralis), Marcelo Vai (bass, formerly of Imago Mortis, now playing with Obsin), André Andrade (drums, formerly of HeavenFalls, currently with Stalker) and second guitar

The foundation of this Dutch Melodic Death Metal act goes back to the year 2001, when lead guitarist/ singer Mike Oude Geerdink and drummer Bob Stolk started jammin' together on an haunted attic of an old building of their hometown Ede, in the North of Holland.

Very little info is available about this Ukrainian Melodic Metal act, due in part because they still have their own website (www.) mindstructure.net under construction, and in part because I still cannot log onto MySpace with the network PC I use to retrieve info off the Internet.

The Portuguese band Destroyers Of All was formed in 2011 by current or former members of e.g. Antichthon, Seventh Seal, Strikeback and Crystalline Darkness.
