Epitome Of Frail

Germany’s Epitome Of Frail were formed more than a decade ago. Throughout the past eleven years, the guys recorded a handful of recordings that did not really reach a proper audience. Nevertheless, Epitome Of Frail were able to play lots of shows in their home country with major acts like Hatebreed, Napalm Death, All Shall Perish, Fall Of Serenity or The Black Dahlia Murder.

Alter Self

Alter Self were formed more than five years in Athens, Greece, but in mean time there wasn’t but an official EP (2009’s Ashes Over Eden) to please some thrasheads’ hearing organs. It mainly has to do with obliged military service (WTF, does it still exist in current society? Another pathetic proof of our useless mankind…).

Aeon

As appetizer: check out the reviews (professionally and grimly) done for this splendid website in our archives section for Aeon’s former releases.

Across Tundras & Lark’s Tongue

Across Tundras brings to the table a mixture of several different genres that some might say shouldn’t may be crossed, but this band deliver the goods for sure. Across Tundras’ contribution is much in the vein of their previous works albeit not quite as haunting country-like as their lastest Sage but certainly more doomy. “Low haunts” and “Crux to bear” are long spirited songs infused with elements from stoner, indie, folk, Americana and luckily doom.

Red Lamb

Red Lamb is a project that grew between Dan Spitz (Anthrax) and Dave Mustaine (Megadeath), so it’s no wonder that the songs they wrote have their roots in their musical history, which basically is….trash.

Since I’ve never been a big fan of the trash subgenre, listening to this album could have been quite an ordeal, but I managed it.  It is trash, but there are a few songs even I like.

PG.Lost

PG.Lost?  A band I had never before heard of. They hail from Sweden, and this apparently already theirr third release so far. Their first release, ‘It’s Not Me, it’s You’ dates back to 2008, and was followed in 2009 by ‘In Never Out’. I myself cannot pinpoint their music to a specific genre.  It seems this kind of music is called ‘post-rock’, whatever that means is completely lost to me.  Anyhow one fact is true, this is not rock music.

M.I.C.

Since its conception in 2004, M.I.C. has seen several line-up changes, due maily to band leader and singer/ guitarist Yvon Serré's constant moving, not only within China (where the band was founded), but also back and forth to his native Canada.

Kill Ferelli

Kill Ferelli actually is a Dutch band, fronted by Kelly Kockelkoren, and so far has only released an EP in 2011, calles ‘Demolicious’.  That this band hails from Holland was quite a shock for me, because they sound very American if you ask me. What the album contains are 13 songs, that walk a thin line between rock and pop.  I’d say their sound can in certain ways be compared to Paramore, although I’d also dare to compare it a bit with Avril Lavigne.

Fraze Gang

Fraze Gang consist of, among others, 2 former members of Brighton Rock, and with ‘2’, release their second album.  Their debut was released in 2006. What this band brings us is honest hard rock that verges on the border of classic 80ies melodic metal.  I hear hints of Dokken, but also of Judas Priest and Ratt, but also AC/DC (albeit only on one track, ‘Tough Enough’).
