I didn’t know what this band – or rather one man project with some special guests - would sound like, the promo mentioned Gothic Metal/Rock. But listening to this album was a very enjoying experience.
It certainly has some gothic elements in it, but there are some progressive elements in the music as well. What immediately drew my attention, are the vocals. Aaron Stainthorpe from My Dying Bride is one of the vocalists, the other vocals being sung by Simon Gordon (Kill II This), while Wayne Bridge, the main man behind this project, is playing the guitars. What also is remarkable is that over the whole length of the album there’s a lot of melancholy in the music.
With only eleven – rather short - tracks, and one bonus track, the album is over before you know it.
You will have to listen a few times to this album though, because after a first hearing you might be a bit disappointed, since no track really stands out from the others, but after playing it a couple times, you discover some hidden elements, making it a very nice album.
