Principality Of Hell

The World Terror Committee is known for quality as from the early years, but 2014 is a top-year for this label. Some material I reviewed this year was for the likes of Thy Darkened Shade, Tortorum, Dysangelium, Ascension, Sargeist etc. (check the site to find out…), and without exception I was very pleased (some more than others, evidently). Now this label will release the album Fire & Brimstone by a new project, called Principality Of Hell.

Guerra Total

1997. Gerson Fabian ‘Demonslaught’ Toro forms Eternal Drak (‘drak’ and not ‘dark’!). With some friends he records the EP La Resureccion De La Orden Guerrera, which gets released right before changing the moniker into Guerra Total. It takes some time, but as from about six-seven years ago, Guerra Total starts gaining a (well-deserved) popularity in their home country (Colombia) and some neighbour countries (though they also visited Europe and East-Asia).

Funerary

And all the dark things came out from hiding and had the world all to themselves… Isn’t that a great statement to start with? Indeed, that was what I thought too…

Exordium Mors

I didn’t know the Mexican label Iron, Blood And Death Corp., but apparently they did release quite a number of albums from fabulous bands and projects throughout the years. A new signing on their roster is Exordium Mors, an experienced five-piece with members from e.g. Stormforge and Heavy Artillery. They recorded this first full length (there were some demos and EP’s before) at the Revolver Studio with Alex Selman doing production, mix, engineering and mastering.

Emptiness Soul

In my review for the new Lauxnos-album My Dead Ocean, I mentioned the sad burial of Emptiness Soul, a fabulous band that shares a member with Lauxnos (see update December 24th 2014). It is very sad to notice Emptiness Soul are no more. But anyway, Tim of Metallic Media was so kind to send the Three Days-album to us, which surely is an underestimated release, seen the strength of this Russian project.

Divine:Zero

After more than six years, the German act Divine:Zero finally returns with the successor of 2008’s The Day God Left. This sophomore album, The Cold Asylum, was recorded with studio assistance of Achim Kaiser – think Motorjesus, Steele The Score etc. In between both albums, the band was able to play live on stage with the likes of e.g. Born From pain, Fleshcrawl, Motorjesus, Dew-Scented, Powerwolf etc.

Beneath the Storm

BENEATH THE STORM is a one man effort  from Slovenia… and God this is not a nice piece of work….    Funeral doom, sludge is  not supposed to be a nice piece of work I hear you think out loud and that’s correct….  But It should  at least sound like a tank division is going to pass by you at just a couple of CM’s away so it scares the shit out of you. “Evil reflection”  does not have that effect  has none of that.  What it does have is 6 to long slabs of monotone riffs, whispering vocals and an annoying cheap mechanical drum sample which does not work at all..…
