Chasma
Portland Oregon…is that not the place the TV series Grimm calls home? Apparently, it’s also the homestead of Chasma and their introduction to me, is their third album Omega Theorian….

Sometimes I am ashamed (yes, even in my case it might occur) - I just mean that, apparently, Atrum Tempestas recorded and released an EP before, 2012’s Ne Deus Crede, and I was not aware of it… [weep weep weep and shame shame shame]. That’s a pity, and I will certainly search for that material, especially after having experienced this first full length, Néant (which actually is French for ‘denying’).
I admit that this review deals with an older release (once again), but for the 666th time I just say: [self-censorship].
Unfathomed Of Abyss are a project by Kevin Price, a guy from Texas that started writing material for this solo-outlet in 2000. Kevin constantly re-adapted and re-arranged what he had created, with a final result, each time again, that did not come close to the original structures. That’s of course one of the reasons why it took almost a decade and a half to have the first album finished. Yet I prefer this kind of working, of course, instead of writing and recording stuff too hasty (commercial pulp, I call it).

US POWER METAL… there was time that if a band was labelled such I simply had to have it. Hence I did have high expectation when Firebreather was sent my way to review it. So, can Sunless Sky from Cleveland, Ohio, live up to my expectations?

Red Eleven are a five man band hailing form Finland, which has been formed around 2009, and released their first album in 2013. What the style of their music on the first album ‘Idiot Factory’ was, I wouldn’t know, since I’ve not heard it, but what they bring us on this follow-up album can be described as a mix between Metal, alternative rock, and rock.
This overview of Ozzy’s career is available in different formats. First of all there’s a CD, that contains 17 tracks, and which I received to review. But you can also buy it as a 2 LP set, and even as a 2 LP picture disc set. And finally there’s also a 2 DVD set.
Let’s just say that is was a real pleasure to listen to this collection of songs, spanning this man’s 4 decades career, from the – not so – humble beginnings ‘Blizzard Of Ozz’ and follow-up ‘Diary Of A Madman’ right up to his latest album ‘Scream’.
A double CD collection of ‘King Diamond’ songs, newly enhanced into ultimate editions, will be released by ‘Metal Blade Records’ next month. King Diamond’s ‘Dreams of Horror’ is the only ‘best of’ album covering the band’s entire career. King Diamond and ‘Andy LaRocque’ meticulously mastered and enhanced these 23 songs into the ultimate editions, chosen by the band from both the Roadrunner and Metal Blade catalog.
