Newest release from this American outfit, and 3th one featuring Uta Plotking on vocals. And boy this is a great release, people into Doom/Stoner metal can’t afford not to have this Billy Anderson produced masterpiece in their collection. Mobile of angels features only 5 tracks, varying in length from over 8 minutes to just passing the 10 minutes marker, with the title track being the exception with it’s mere 3.30 minutes in length.
Ach...every once in a far too rare blue moon, some record company will come along with an almost perfect description of one of their new releases. That being the case with this Vancouver based Canadian act, I felt I could not deprive you, dear reader, of exactly those words...so here they are (adapted, in small details, to comply with our website's rules, of course)!
This Dutch/ Belgian Pop Rock act was founded in 2004 as a home recording project by core members Bouke Zoete (vocals & guitar), Sjors van der Meulen (guitar/ keyboards/ vocals) and Stijn Klaver (drums), with the intent of paying utter importance to “The Song”.
Brasil has lots to offer to the world, besides the annual carnival, Sepultura or caipirinha and this band The Black Rook is one of them. Actually this is not what you’d call a real band, rather a two man project, consisting of Flavio Sendra, who does the lead and backing vocals on the album, and Rubens Lessa who did the guitars, bass and keyboards. To play the drums they used a guest musician, Celo Oliveira, who also was the producer
This sure is a strange band. Hailing from Athens – Greece, hence the bandname maybe, they were formed in 2000, and have since extensively been touring, mostly in Greece, but they’ve also done two European tours. Since their founding they’ve released two albums, ‘Eleven The Hard Way’ in 2008, and ‘Macho Libre’ in 2011, which means this is their third release.
Ordoxe are a Canadian band, formed in 1989 by Jean-François Jalbert (v, g). In 1993 he also founded Slaotvean, and since this one became rather ‘popular’, Jean-François decided to put his initial outfit on hold. After a while however, Ordoxe were reformed (in 2006 and 2007), and in that period they recorded two full lengths, Sorrick Ked Tho and Magnum Opus, both released via Forever Night.
What is this. If I’d say the Germans have a bad taste, I’d be close to the truth. This is the country that brings us the ‘schlager’ festivals, and other disastrous events, yet also a country that has produced many world class metal bands, like Accept, Doro, and the list goes on.
Frontal is a French technical death metal war machine. Although nothing in comment with them….you can best compare them to Gojira goes technical death metal. But these guys like to stay underground since there is only just so little info about them on the web…a shame because they deserve so much more attention.
Anyway….the guys have an album out for some time now and it is a gem. It made my days as it made me tap my feet and slightly nod my head up and down. Keep it up guys, I’m looking forward to your next record.
Evergrey is a band I first got acquainted with when I bought their ‘In Search Of Truth’ album, which was the bands third release, and I now realize that since buying that album, I’ve more or less unconsciously bought every album they’ve released since.
