Nordmann

I was little confused when Nele, the nice lady that takes care of Consouling Sounds’ management and promotion (she also runs the renewed store in Ghent, and is in charge of the organisation of different happenings, like a non-ignorable presence at 2014’s edition of the famous Incubate (and FYI: Consouling Sounds will record the performance on that ‘festival’ of Nadja, and release it soon after on vinyl; something to look after!)), offered me an EP by Nordmann.

Nefandus

Swedish horde Nefandus was formed more than two decades ago by e.g. Mika ‘Belfagor’ Hakola, whom you might know from, for example, Ofermod, Leidungr or Serpent Noir. In that period Nefandus released the album The Nightwinds Carried Our Names via defunct Secula Delenda. And I was not really impressed back then.

Evil Palace

Evil Palace hail from Ukraine and are a side-project of Doom / Death / Black act Dusk Of Eternity (multi-instrumentalist / music composer Wolfheart, lyricist / vocalist Sid and session bass player Astaroth are part of Dusk Of Eternity).

Eluveitie

Origins is the sixth full length album by Swiss top-act Eluveitie, a band that does not necessarily needs any introduction. This newest album, available two years after the highly acclaimed Helvetios, was recorded at New Sound Studio with producer Tommy Vetterli (of Kreator- & Coroner-fame) with some new members.

Eleanora

Those who are trusted with Consouling Sounds will not be surprised to notice that Eleanora’s newest piece of Aural Art will be released in co-operation with this (excellent) Belgian label. You might have heard of them since they did a split with Amenra, but the best is yet to come!

Brouillard

French label Distant Voices are a very special one. First of all it has to do with the musical direction, i.e. a mostly underground-oriented kind of grim, depressive, ambient, melancholic and / or atmospheric Black Metal. Je l’adore!

Bestial Deform

One of Russia’s oldest Death Metal acts for sure is this one: Bestial Deform, created in 1990 and still active. There was an official break for a couple of years at the end of last century, and the past decade there was nearly anything going on (the last album, Stop The Christianity!, was released in 2005). But since I do consider Bestial Deform as one of the strongest and most influential Death Metal acts from Russia, I am truly pleased by the band’s return.

Basilisk

Basilisk are a Japanese band that was formed in 1997 when Monarchie Infernale split up. Throughout the years, the band underwent several line-up changes, and they were joined by musicians active in other notorious Japanese acts like Stillbirth. There were not that much activities, not in the studio, nor live on stage, and a couple of times Basilisk were put on hold.

Atra Vetosus

Atra Vetosus are a Tasmanian band that are on Immortal Frost’s roster for a couple of years. In 2011 this collaboration resulted in the release of the demonstrational recording A Palace Shrouded In Emptiness (the tracks from that demo, by the way, have been re-arranged for this debut full length) (back then, by the way, Atra Vetosus were a duo, i.e.

Zarpa

Although a band that has been around since the 80’s….I never actually heard of them. Although it is rather hard to find info about them. They are Spanish and only have a little info on the web about them here and there, but it’s all in Spanish.

So basically i can’t really tell anything about hem besides that they have a new record out. That record doesn’t really make it on my favorites list as it just lacks power, sounds dull and isn’t really interesting but rather typical. Overal an average album.
