There's not really a lot I can tell you about this Mönchengladbach based Pop punk quintet, except that apparently singer Lucas Braun, guitarists Bnedikt Ricken and Lukas Andrzejewski, bassist Moritz Mewes and drummer Yannick Vievers have been playing together since their teenager years, and thus strengthened the bonds of friendship which already brought them together on the common ground of musical preferences.
For a very brief moment there, I though the Amadora based Portuguese Heavy Metal band by this name might've reformed.
One of my favourite albums from 2012, and probably my favourite Death Metal album that very same year (and in many years), must be Ævangelist’s De Masticatione Mortuorum In Tumulis. I did refer to it in the review I recently did for Ævangelist’s newest album, Omen Ex Simulacra (see update February 8th 2014).
“Tuomas Holopainen”, yes the founder, songwriter and keyboard player of the Finish metal band Nightwish. Born in Kitee (Sweden) on 25 December 1976, Christmas day. Starting his first solo project. This is something else than the metal we used to be hear from him.
“Therion” a Swedish symphonic metal band, Founded in 1987. Original was it a death metal band but they adjusted their style by adding some orchestral elements including choirs, classical musicians. and even a full orchestral at their concert performances. The choir gives a new dimension in this kind of music and lift the level of the songs.
Supercharger is a Danish band founded in 2009 at Copenhaegen. They playing swinging-Rock-n-‘roll’ with a touch of metal that’s how the band describes themselves.

Something of a surprise from one half German/the other half Turkish duo , Mantar mix some notable ferociousness of their own into the typical formula. The sound of Death by Burning is not too far from the usual standards as far as songwriting goes, but the venomous vocals and vicious dark attitude add a genuine touch to the music, being sometimes reminiscent of Melvins, Darkthrone, Amebix, Motorhead and Frost with a similar rough quality.
Lions of Tsavo from Texas is a very clever blend of progressive, thrash, math, sludge, black and post metal vibes that grows on you with each and every playing.

It wasn’t quite the case during the early years of this band, but since about a decade, I find it quite an exciting experience to listen to new material by German act Eisregen. I couldn’t really enjoy the first albums they did, but as from half of the 2000’s, they do draw my attention, for the material became much more interesting. The band comes close, in mean time, to its twentieth anniversary, and with Todestage, they deliver their tenth album.
