Gypsy Chief Goliath
No doubt about it: Gypsy Chief Goliath would stand proudly in a book gathering the wackiest bandnames in Rock history! Foremost however, I feel the band's already earned its place in the regular history books of music as well!

The Wish Is Father To The Thought was the debut studio full album by Dutch band Eternal Solstice, originally released in 1994 via Musikfabrik, and very shortly after re-issued via Displeased Records (and for the vinyl-freaks: Dark Descent Records re-released the stuff on LP in 2012).
Devin Garret Townsend must be one of Canada’s most active persons within the Extreme Metal scene. As teenager, he played in a couple of bands, and one of those, called Noisescapes, drew attention of Steve Vai, who asked him to help him out with his upcoming album.
According to the info sheet we got along with the download promo of this album, Borrowed Time was founded in Detroit, Michigan during 2010 by vocalist/ keyboardist J. Priest, guitarist/ keyboardist Matt Preston, guitarist Victor Ruiz, bassist Mark Kiseliovas, and drummer Sam Ceckowski, yet that is not in accordance to the shit-list of former band members mentioned on the band's page at metal-archives.com!
And now, for something completely different...nah, nót the Monty Python's Flying Circus show, but a return to Roots music, more specifically to the Bluegrass music of the Dutch quartet known as Blue Grass Boogiemen, who've actually been at it since 1990, toured both Europe and the US from corer to corner, and back again, and in the process became the “Dutch Ambassadors Of Bluegrass”!
This Oslo based Norwegian GrindCore act was founded in September 2010 by Insense guitarists Martin Rygge and Tommy Hjelm (both also taking care of backing vocals), alongside drummer Christian “Bartender” Svendsen (known from Tjuder, The Cumshots, Grimfist, and Gothminister).
Sixth album already for German sleaze band Shameless, and as the saying goes ‘never change a winning team’ that’s exactly what they’ve done.
With Murder One, Swedish DeathPunk Rock 'n' Rollers Rawhide finally bring their first proper full-length album (the 2009 I talked about in the review of the band's Branded For Life EP – posted somewhere in late February 2012 – was actually a compilation of the band's three demos), but I guess you'll have to hurry if you though of getting yourselves a physical copy of the album (as is, in the format of 12-inch vinyl), because only 350 copies (of which 100 in red) were made.
First of all: no massive introduction, for everyone knows this band, and nobody will accept the current Metal scene without the influence once initiated by these Englishmen. I was extremely ‘into’ this band’s music in the beginning of their history (I sort of lost it after Gothic / Icon), but the band for sure is one of the most popular and influential acts on Mater Terra Metalica.
My goodness...yet another act under the monicker of Oblivion? I say, this is probably one of the most used bandnames in the Metal scene.
