Warbringer

Warbringer is an American trash metal band formed in 2004. They formed the bans when John Laux and Victor Mikhaltsevich met during high school. They shared a strong common interest in Metal and began writing instrumental songs together. Eventually Victor introduced John Kevill to Laux as the new vocalist and immediately a strong creative partnership was forged.

Vandroya

This Brazilian band has been around for some time, yet it is only now they have released their debut album.  Led by Daisa Munhoz, a rather good looking lady, with a fantastic voice, they bring us high quality progressive power metal.

various artists

This compilation supports the local scene of the Baden region. The project started with Rise Of The Griffin in 2008, and now continues with a second sampler, called Flight Of The Griffin. Two additions: 1) a griffin is a heraldic beast, symbol for the Baden region (amongst others), and 2) the compilation’s subtitle is taken from the eighties Metal band Griffin.

Thyreos

I have absolutely no idea why this album only reached me now, since it’s been released over a year ago, and it’s really a shame I didn’t get the chance to listen to it, and write a review.  It’s already the second album by this Swedish band, and I rather liked it.

Sarke

Norwegian musician Thomas Bergli (drummer for Khold and Tulus, and formerly for Old Man's Child -in 1997 – and Sensa Anima – with whom he recorded the 2000 album Synthetic) akà Sarke had been toying with the ideas for a solo project for a couple of years already.

Nightwish

Since Nightwish released End Of An Era, a lot has changed, mainly at the front side of the band. Tarja got replaced with Anette and some years later, it was ReVamp's Floor Jansen to give it a go. She's only just been announced the new front lady of Nightwish and the band already decided to record the Wacken concert for a dvd, which goes by the title Showtime, Storytime.

Michael Lee Firkins

This is not an album for the faint hearted.  If you’re into pure rock, steer well away from this album.  If on the other hand you like Blues Rock, spiced up with a healthy dose of country and even some boogie this album might work for you.

Marche Funèbre

Belgium’s Marche Funèbre were formed more than six years ago with the intention to pay tribute to the Old School Doom-Death scene. Both the EP Norizon (2009) and the full length To Drown (2010) (also released via Shiver) proved that this band indeed did pay honour to the earliest years with grandeur and conviction. Of course the Lowlands (i.e.

Inferno

Finally! I have always been ‘into’ Inferno’s Black Metal (the one from the Czech Republic), and the last effort this act did, called Black Devotion, was released in 2009; indeed, it took way too long! Shame on you, guys! But since I am a big boy, I did not cry (yet), for I was ignorantly craving for more… And now there is more to come!

Eat the Gun

Line up : Hendrik Wippermann – Guitars, Vocals

               Gereon “Gerry” Homann – Drums

               Peter Bergmüller - Bass

Kicking out the jams from Munster Germany since 2002 is Eat The Gun, delivering their fourth long player Stripped to the Bone, now signed to SPV/Steamhammer Records. The title of the album has some meaning for the band. From song writing to recording the band took a minimalist, stripped down, approach.

Eat The Gun: up against the wall.
