Artical

Article is a Greek band formed in 2002 by Mike Dimareli as an instrumental neo-classical metal project. But with their third album ‘Illusion X’ they have transformed into a vocal power metal band with the legendary Mark Boals (Yngwie Malmsteen, Ring of Fire, Royal Hunt) on vocals. Dimareli’s talent is widespread with not only all mind-blowing guitar parts but tight and powerful drum grooves as well. Still this album is not a showcase of individual craftsmanship but a true band where the songs are the centerpiece.

Angelica

Angelica Rylin is a Swedish female musician known by her band " Murder of my sweet " whose music and the words she writes. Her debut Solo album "angelica" is a good hard rock record which makes me remind to the bands of the 80s such as Vixen or still to Lita Ford and Pat Benatar. Thus a good dose of Hard rock and without forgetting typical rock ballad " Can' t stop the love " or " Losers in paradise ". An album without too much surprises but which deserves a listening.

Windhand

Founded in late 2008 by former Alabama Thunderpussy guitarist Asechiah Bogdan, alongside singer Dorthia Cottrell, second guitarist Garrett Morris, bassist Nathan Hilbish, and drummer Jeff Loucks, this Richmond, Virginia based Stoner/ Doom Metal act first had itself heard of with their self-titled 2-track demo, recorded in the rehearsal space and released in limited copies (only 80 made) in August 2010.

Vista Chino

Stoner fans, beware! For Vista Chino is simply the new bandname taken on by John Garcia (singer), Brant Bjork (drums) and Bruno Fevery (guitar), now that the other former Kyuss members Josh Homme and Scott Reeder won their law suit against Kyuss Lives! using that name for any recordings. Further proof of the ongoing animosity between the former Kyuss members.

The Movements

Like Elephants 1 (Like Elephants 2 is scheduled for release in early 2014) is a 11 track CD full of beautiful masterpieces that are performed with so much feeling and passion, the intensity of each track is so deep you wonder what was going around the time of writing and recording.

The Covenant

Okay, just to make things perfectly clear, this is about the Dutch band The Covenant. They are not to be confused with the Hard Rock/ Heavy Metal act The Covenant Band, who hailed from Toronto (Ontario, Canada), released only a 1982 single, and who split a long time since!

Ted Nugent

More than 30 million sold albums and thousands of concerts, the virtuoso and eccentric Ted Nugent returns to us with a live record of thunder. Ultralive Ballisticrock  has all that it is necessary. Rock n roll attitude with all the best of the best of the 70s until now. As usual, a perfect sound and energetic solos, jokes between songs , well a beautiful live compilation for all the fans of Mister Nugent.

Scar The Martyr

Scar the Martyr is an American metal band formed in 2013 as a side project for Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison. The group was announced in April 2013 by the drummer and was shown to feature guitarist Jed Simon and Kris Norris. In June 2013 the group announced its name and full lineup, which includes Chris Vrenna, and relatively unknown vocalist Henry Derek Bonner.

Robert Dahlqvist

The Hellacopters disbanded amicably in 2008 so the members could move on to other projects. For whatever reason, guitarist Robert Dahlqvist of The Hellacopters saw fit to release an album as a solo artist.. The resulting album is both intriguing and inspiring in the variations.

Onslaught

Would you know...just when UK Speed Thrashers Onslaught wanted to go out on a major European tour in support of their previous album (Sounds Of Violence, review by yours truly with update since my review of the band's 2007 comeback album, posted 02/02/2011), one of the band's oldest members, drummer Steve Grice (whom was at the basis of the band's reformation in 2005) decides to quit.
