Plague Years

The band Plague Years (the one from Detroit, Michigan; there seems to be a Deathcore-act with the very same name from Utah too) debuted in 2017 with a self-called EP, independently released via their Bandcamp-page (and different streaming formats). In Autumn 2018 they released their second recording via the very same sources, called Unholy Infestation. Seen the quality of this stuff, Seeing Red Records took the decision to promote this material more intensively, and they decided to put this material on compact disc.

Instinct

Hailing from Hertfordshire, North of London in the U.K. (almost a former member of the E.U.) and currently dwelling around in Wiltshire (East of London), Instinct is a productive outfit of one Verst. You might also know this guy from the projects Harrowing Slumber (in a near future, I will write and upload a review for Sleepwalking The Path Of Ea) and Spheric Obscurium, and it’s the same person who runs Ancient Trail Recordings.

Nachteule

Adrien Blosse aka Noctis is a multi-instrumentalist whom you might know from his Black Metal solo-outfits Alkymist, Blosse and Calvaire, or from his activities in Maeskyyrn. He’s also the guy behind Nachteule (‘night owl’), which he started in 2016.

From The Vastland

For sure being one of my favourite bands from the Middle-East, From The Vastland actually hail from Iran, although band leader Sina lives in Norway nowadays. The guy started this outfit in 2010 and throughout almost a decade of existence, he wrote and recorded some very nice stuff. From The Vastland debuted in 2011 with Darkness Vs.

Blurr Thrower

Totally new to me, Blurr Thrower seems to be a mysterious one-(wo)man outfit from Paris, France. With the two-tracker Les Avatars Du Vide (‘avatars of the void’), Blurr Thrower did debut last year (in July, more exactly) independently and digitally (cf. their Bandcamp-page).

Striborg

Two weeks ago, I posted a review on the re-release of the Striborg recording Spiritual Catharsis, originally released in 2004 and now re-issued by a partnership of Satanath Records and Death Portal Studio (see: http://www.concreteweb.be/reviews/striborg). So, I am not going to write a new full introduction on this Tasmanian one-man horde, but I’d like to refer to that recently published article.

Alphaxone & Xerxes The Dark

In our countries, we see Iran as an exotic area, far away from our (narrow-minded) (capitalistic) ideas and thoughts. But their musical scene, well, is not known. I do know some hands full of bands / projects (often anonymous, cf. religious fundamentalism – no further comment) that dwell within the (Black) Metal scene (and hey, there are some truly underestimated yet worthy and excellent recordings from Persian soil!), yet there is a small / vivid (delete as appropriate) Ambient / Experimental / Drone scene too.

Void

VOID, or better: VƆID, are an act from the city of Nantes (in the West of France, not that far away from the Atlantic shores). They started jamming, yeah, at the very beginning of this decade, and in 2012 they released a demo (Hate & Roll, limited as compact disc) and a split with side-project Blacktyde. Then… silence…

Tyranno

Tyranno hail from Rio de Janeiro, BraZZil, and were formed in 2014. They recorded and released some EP’s / singles (one of them released as split with country-fellowmen Nightmare), and in 2017 the trio - original members Bitch Hünter (drums, production, mix, mastering, artwork) and Dyd Bastard (vocals and guitars) [both of them are known as well from e.g.
