Albez Duz

Earlier this century, some members of Black Metal outfit Dies Ater wanted to start a side-project which would rather focus on the essence of Doom. In 2006 they started Albez Duz (which is archaic German for noise of the swan), which was the start of a very interesting journey. Throughout the years, Albez Duz transformed from ‘just a side-outlet’ to a real band, and their handful of releases were highly appreciated by the international scene for sure.

Saturnalia Temple

Damn, this has taken quite some time… The last Saturnalia Temple recording was released five years ago. That one, called To The Other, saw the light via one of the oldest Metal labels from French soil, Listenable Records, and it is the very same label that takes care of Saturnalia Temple’s newest full-length studio album, Gravity. It’s available via the modern digital sources, as well as on vinyl (12”LP) and compact disc (digipack).

Zaum

Five years and something ago, two Canadian musicians joined forces under the Zaum banner with one goal: to create a form of Doom that trespasses all boundaries and limitations. Kyle Alexander McDonald (Shevil) and Christopher Lewis (Iron Giant) created a first album in 2014, which was the impressive Oracles via I Hate Records (link: see below).

Izegrim

20 years in mean time, this Dutch Thrash band has climbed up to the highest regions of the international scene. Now, finally, after several years of silence, they return with their fifth full length, The Ferryman’s End, once again via France’s Listenable Records. It got recorded at the famous Soundlodge Studio and lasts for forty-two minutes (I know, a very short introduction, but since their ‘popularity’, you will find everything you want to know on the net).

Electric Mary

In spring 2015 we can expect a new full length from these southern / sleazy rockers,  until than we will need stay happy with this 5 track EP… and boy happy we are! Electric Mary are  yet again one of those  bands who raise the flag for uncomplicated hard rockin’  mania, as also brought to us by the likes of BLACKSTONE CHERRY, BLACKBERRY SMOKE , SCORPION CHILD …..  From Opening track SWEET MARY  to closer SO CRUEL, these guy’s  are  on fire, ALREADY GONE would be a DEEP PURPLE  classic on any record  they did since PERFECT STRANGERS.

Incantation

No need to introduce this band for everyone knows the elementary importance of Incantations. Check out the net or one of the reviews I did for this Kult-band on this site.

Axegressor

I can, and will, be very short about this newest Axegressor-album. I was not that enthusiastic with their former albums (Command and Next, both released via Dethrone). These Finns won’t convince me either this time, even though this third full length (they did have a self-released mini-album as well in the past) sounds slightly more professional than before.

Acheron

For more than twenty years, Acheron sicken our globe with their own aural vision on humanity and religion, and it isn’t a pretty view. Though, from that aural point of view, I need to say it can be very pretty. It is a band I learned to appreciate throughout the years. I wasn’t quite enthusiastic during the earliest years (even though I think the debut Rites Of The Black Mass is top!), but I am not sure if it was Vincent Crowley and his horde that stylistically changed, or if it was me who ‘grew’ into Acheron’s musical efforts.

Blood Of The Sun

For those of you that don't have a clue, BOTS is made up of Henry Vazquez from Saint Vitus, Dave Gryder from Storm at Sunrise, Tony Reed from Mos Generator, John O’ Daniel and Rusty Burns from southern legend Point Blank.
