Season Of Mist

Something In Us Died, is the debut full-length album from France's hot post-rock/metal band Lodz. It is a fairly young collaboration of this Lyon based chaps as there is little to non info about them yet.

Everything I, Voidhanger Records (an independent division of Aeternitas Tenebrarum Music Foundation aka ATMF Records) do is of a superior quality. This wonderful label releases nothing but excellent stuff, and this time it is not different. With Converge, Rivers Of Hell, this Italian label compiles material from three solo-projects by an Australian guy who calls himself Dis Pater (I have no idea who the person behind those projects is, but actually it does not matter, does it).

Without any doubt, the duo Ævangelist (multi-instrumentalist, composer, lyricist, producer, engineer and mixer Matron Thorn and vocalist / lyricist / music co-writer / co-engineer Ascaris) created (one of) my absolute 2012-Number One-album (s) De Masticatione Mortuorum In Tumulis (via I, Voidhanger Records).

Bordeaux… I do appreciate some of the wines coming from that era, even though not every sub-region out there can completely please me (I am a connoisseur-amateur, with a profound passion for wines and distillates, but that’s another story). However, there’s another Bordeaux-based existence I do appreciate enormously: Year Of No Light. This band was formed at the beginning of this century and they did record a handful of highly acceptable releases with a mostly breath-taking atmosphere.

Norwegian project Weh is a mainly acoustic Folk project by Erik Evju, who wanted to create a mixture of darkened feelings and natural emotions. Under the moniker Weh, Erik recorded and released a first demo / EP in 2002, called The Death, and it received very positive reactions in Norway as well as in the rest of the world. 2003 saw the release of a second demo, called All The Sinners Are Sleeping Now, followed in 2004 by demo # 3, The Coffee’s Cold In The Morning, The Beer’s Warm At Night.

Dutch Heretic were formed in North Brabant, Holland, in 1995. Throughout the past years, they recorded a handful of (excellent) albums: Black Metal Holocaust (1999), Devilworshipper (2003), and after a temporary split Gods Over Humans, Slaves Under Satan (2008); they also released some splits (e.g.

No Time To Waste lasts for forty minutes, but this album is not a complete waste of time for the trans-bordering Heavy Rock fan.

The French horde Destinity celebrated its fifteenth anniversary last year, entre outre with the preparation of album # 8, Resolve In Crimson. This record was recorded again with Jacob Hansen (!) and it features guest vocals by Stéphane Buriez, whom you might know from another great French Extreme Metal act, Loudblast.

Resolve In Crimson (42:40) goes on in the vein of the last album, XI Reasons To See, with nothing less, yet nothing more either (at all, unfortunately), to add.

Monolithe are one of France’s finest Obscure Doom acts. This band with e.g. Anthemon member Sylvain Bégot, who started this act more than ten years ago, released two full lengths before (in 2003 and 2005; followed by two downloadable minis, respectively in 2007 and early 2012, the so-called Interlude-diptych).

Nadir Promotion and Buil2Kill Records released a couple of new albums in 2012, which have been send to our headquarters recently through the promotional staff behind the label. Some of them were transported into my hemisphere, so (in a couple of cases) I will be glad to …

Veritas Odium Parit by Russian trio (originally a one-man project) Arcanum Sanctum lasts for half an hour and just like the 2010-debut Fidus Achates, the stuff was mixed and mastered at the NavahoHut in Moscow.
