The Argentinian band Exterminio was rather ‘popular’ in their home country during the nineties, with inclusion of some well-acclaimed demo tapes. At the end of last century they did split up, but in 2006 they reformed. In 2007 Exterminio released their debut full length, Homicide In First Degree (via Hurling Metal Records), and in 2012 the second one, Inhuman Atrocities, via Icarus Music.
Ildverden are a rather productive solo-project from the Crimean peninsula, Ukraine, that now release a fourth studio album, this time in a constellation of US-based (and underestimated) Pagan Flames, and Russia’s finest Satanath Records. Темніч чорна йде за мною aka Temních chorna yde za mnoyu.
Rusty Pacemaker is the artist name of an Austrian musician, who started writing music in 2003 (he was already over thirty years of age back then) under the name Rusty.
When it comes to the more Nordic-sounding, rough-edged sub-genre within the Black Metal spectrum, I sort of have a not that secret passion for the scene from Canada in general, and the Quebec-based one more specifically. So you might imagine my arousal when receiving the promotional copy for the untitled debut of Montreal-based Aversion. This band was formed in 2011 and did release a demonstrational recording in 2013 (which was called Pre-Life Nostalgia).
Bloodlost are a Swiss Thrash-combo with two albums in their name: Hellcome (2008) and Trashell (2011). Now they return with the third studio recording, called Evil Origins, which was recorded, mixed and mastered at the French Full Metal Studio by Izakar (of Blazing War Machine-fame) and Sébastien Castan.
One of the most impressive Doom labels is Aesthetic Death, home to the likes of Esoteric, Wreck Of The Hesperus, Mekigah, Walk Through Fire, The Nihilistic Front and many more. Another act that released a couple of albums via Aesthetic Death is called Fatum Elisum (FYI: they disbanded about a year ago, unfortunately). Fetid Zombie are one of the many outfits involving Mark Riddick, known for his activities in very diverse outfits such as Equimanthorn, Macabra, Folkearth, The Soil Bleeds Black or Unburied, many of them with his twin brother Mike (Michael).
Dutch three-piece Blunt Knife Idol (bassist / vocalist / founding member Herrie, guitarist / music- & lyric-writer Arco, and drummer Tony) release their debut (?) via their own label Herrie Records (and herrie means something like noise or uproar or tumult), being a collection of twenty five pisses, sorry, pieces of old schooled Death / Grind.
Germany’s Skady return with their third album, When Sun Disappeared, after several years of silence. The album is a first part of a space-themed trilogy, which was recorded and mixed at the Rosenquarz Studio. It gets released the digital way by the band itself (digital), but apparently there is a CD-edition too via Metallic Media (hey pals, are you still in touch?). The album consists of nine tracks and lasts for fifty three minutes.
One of the most relevant / impressive / influential bands within the international Dark Wave / Gothic Rock scene for sure was Belgian act Star Industry. They did record several albums, both full length and mini, before, which were, without exception, highly appreciated by both press and audience. But it has been quite some time… However, the fans would have been surprised last year, when the band released a new single last year, Eyline, once again via Brussels-based Alfa Matrix.
