One of the most productive guys from Ukraine is Sergiy Fjordsson, who’s the guy behind projects like Moloch, Silver Sphere Moon, Saturn From Essence and Psilocybe City Life. He’s involved as well with Deviator, thought rather as permanent guest.
Kafirun are a very young combo from Vancouver, Canada (formed in early 2014), that did enter the Hora Morior Studio immediately after their ‘birth’ in order to record and self-produce this demo-EP. The three tracks on Death Worship are ‘the reflection of hate and darkness that dwells in man’s heart’.
I remember being pretty enthusiastic with Hrizg’s former Moribund-release, Anthems Of Decrepitude (released early May 2011; review in the Archive-section of Concreteweb, updated on July 17th 2011), and apparently there was an album before, 2007’s Oaken Path Of Grief, which I hadn’t heard before. This Spanish one-man army now returns with Individualism, a perfect title for an isolationistic entity.
There are many bands called Hopeless, but this review deals with the Spanish one. It was (‘was’ and not ‘is’, because the project was put to rest in mean time) the solo-outfit of a guy called Lvciferrian aka S. Vrall, who formed this project during the second half of last decade. Now he continues with Aversion To Mankind, by the way. After some demos and a couple of EP’s, he recorded his sole full length, called Elements. It was released via Russia’s Kunsthauch.
This review deals with the German act Doomed, and not the American or, to my concern, the Antarctic one. This act was formed in 2011 in Saxony by Pierre Laube, and in 2012 Doomed satisfied us with two albums, the self-released The Ancient Path, and In My Own Abyss, their debut for Solitude Productions.
Black Autumn hail from North-Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, and were formed by M. Krall in 1995. The first years the project did not release anything official, yet as from this century, Black Autumn turned out to be a rather productive entity. There were a couple of demos in between 2003 and 2006, as well as a split (with Italy’s Abyss), and in 2007 this solo-outfit released the debut full length, Ecstasy, Nightmare, Doom (ISO666). Three more full lengths followed, i.e.
Sanctus Daemoneon are a two-piece band (vocalist / lyricist Corso and music writer / multi-instrumentalist Cyrus Paice) from Denmark, formed in 2006 and creators of two full lengths and one EP / MCD, respectively Grey Metropolis (Regimental Records, 2008), the unaVOIDable (Negative Existence, 2010), and Nothingless Nothingness (Dunkelkunst, a sub-division of Kunsthauch, 2009).
Mortualia are one of the many projects Finnish guy Shatraug is involved with. He’s especially known from bands like Horna, Sargeist, Behexen, Morbid Savouring, Black Stench or Blutschrei, but that’s just a part of a long list. Mortualia might not be his best known project, but for sure it is an interesting one; what else would you expect?...
Jarnvidr are a Normandy-based two-piece, consisting of guitarist / drummer Vastara and bass player / vocalist Alrinack. The latter is involved with lots of other projects too, such as Suicidal Madness, Uluun, Asphodeles, Blukovla etc.
Discreate were a Grind-act from the Philippines, with two demos on their name, Raw Is Brutality and Contingent Development Of Inanimate Modifications. The latter was originally released on tape via Costa Rica-based label Viceral Vomit Records in October 2011, and re-released shortly after on CD via Rebirth The Metal Productions. Now also Metallic Media are involved in order to give this recording a decent promotion and distribution.
