Vastum

San Francisco-based project Vastum, with former and current members of e.g. Acephalix, Necrot and Hammers Of Misfortune, did surely impress undersigned, and undoubtably tens of millions of others, with 2011’s Carnal Law. The sophomore record Patricidal Lust was recorded at the famous Earhammer Studio and goes on in the very same vein, yet with a heavier and more dense and darkened / darkening core.

Tears Of Martyr

I have no idea why this album gets re-issued, but it has been released about one year ago. Unfortunately I cannot find the review done back then (otherwise I could just copy etc…), but anyway, I will keep it short. The band hails from the Canary Island (a part of Spain in the Atlantic) and was formed fifteen years ago. There was one full length before, called Entrance, which got released in 2010 via STF, and the band performed on stage in support of bands like Swallow The Sun and Dark Tranquillity.

Psalm Zero

Psalm Zero are a new project from New York City, comprised of Castevet’s Andrew Hock on guitars, programming and brutal vocals, and clean vocalist / bass player / synth wizard Charlie Looker, known from recently disbanded alternative Heavy Rock act Extra Life.

Negura Bunget

For this isn’t but a short (ten minutes of duration) two-tracker, I will not spent my un-wasteful time on a majestic biography. This single is a prequel to their upcoming full length, and then (meaning: when I have the opportunity to review the new album) I will be more kind to do so… Just this: Negura Bunget are one of my favourite acts from Romania. I do follow them since the very beginning and I can appreciate (almost) everything they did in the past.

Malthusian

Malthusian hail from Ireland and were formed in 2012 by former or current members of e.g. Abaddon Incarnate, Wreck Of The Hesperus and Mourning Beloveth; indeed, quite impressive it is! The quartet recorded its first demo at the Sun Studio and the material will be released on tape first, followed by a vinyl edition and mini-CD later on.

Macabre

Primo: Hells Headbangers and their intelligence for the re-issue of classics. In an impressive series (think: Deceased, Beherit, Mortician, Incantation, NunSlaughter, Insanity and many more), the label comes with the vinyl re-release of Dahmer, originally released in 2000 via Decomposed / Hammerheart Records.

Days Of Loss

Days Of Loss were formed about a decade and a half ago. During the first half of the first decade of this millennium (got it?), they self-released Lobotomy (2001) and Sleeping Gods Lie (2004) before fading into silence for a while.

Darkmoon Warrior

The German band Darkmoon Warrior was formed at the beginning of the second half of the nineties by two (anti) human beings, Grommon and Atom Krieg. During this era, they recorded stuff that sort of mixed the harsh Black Noise sounds of cult-act Abruptum with industrialised Ambient material à la Neptune Towers (you know, that excellent side-project of Fenriz) (cf. the demos After The Final Armageddon and After The Final Holocaust).

Cokegoat

Cokegoat are a very young (formation: 2011) Chicago-based six-piece (Jeff Wojtysiak-g, v; Chase Bentley-g; Tim Baldwin-b; Ed Nudd-g, v; Jordan Schultz-d; and Rebekah Brown-k, v), that debut with Vessel, which will be released on vinyl, and which will get available as well via digital download.

Chapel

Satan’s Rock ‘n’ Roll was originally released on CD in August 2012, and gets now re-released on vinyl, once again via Invictus Productions. Even though Chapel were formed more than five years ago, it isn’t but this Canadian trio’s sole official release (except for a demo in 2008). And the only reason for this re-release is to please the vinyl-freaks.
