Vanden Plas

A new Vanden Plas album is always something to look forward to. They’ve never failed to amaze me with their fantastic albums.  Four years have passed since their last album ‘The Seraphic Clockwork’.  But it has definitely been worth the waiting .

Twilight

I was philosophising ‘bout a right introduction to this project, but I really do not know how to start. Reason: my eternal gratitude, devotion, passion for Californian act Twilight, one of the most eccentric, mysterious and unique existences ever…

Transatlantic

You know, I would've sworn I'd had to review a Transatlantic album before, but a short check proved me wrong in that respect. Of course, I hàve come across bands of the individual members.

The Sore Losers

It's been 3 ½ years since this Belgian Bluesey Rock band released its self-titled full-length album, of which a review by ours truly was posted on Oct. 7th of 2010. So what has happened with the band since that review (which I still recommend as a reference for the band's history up to that date)?

The Kennedy Veil

Who?: The Kennedy Veil are a quartet (Gabe Seeber-d, KC Childers-g, Shawn Peterson-b, and new vocalist Taylor Wientjes) from Sacramento, California, U.S.Aha, returning with Trinity Of Falsehood. Duration: 32:32 minutes.

The Gaslight Anthem

Well well..my last acquaintance with this band was for the review (posted 11/02/2012) of their iTunes Session EP, and as that was also the band's introduction to Concrete Web, I gave you a complete history of the band up to that point.

The Dear Hunter

The Dear Hunter is a progressive rock band consisting of singer/writer/producer/multi-instrumentalist Casey Crescenzo and drummer Nick Crescenzo. The band already released 2 full length albums and one EP on Triple Crown Records over the past 4 years. Their latest release entitled Migrant Reprise” (which has been out since last month) just found it’s way to my desk.

Synaesthesia

What we have here is good prog with the synth driven styles of alternative rock music that is a pleasant enough listen at times, it just will not be remembered a year or so down the line. While Synaesthesia do have some musical similarities to Porcupine Tree, Muse and Frost, they aren't a clone band. The prog music is varied, with nice changes in dynamics, some catchy melodies, and even some brief outbursts. The playing is good, with some intricate parts in places.
