Death Mercedes

One of the advantages of the growing use of Internet, include the fact that smaller labels, which before would never have had the financial means (mailing costs simply being too high, alongside to the fact that the copies sent would be lost for sales) to send you promotional copies of their releases. Nowadays, the music journalist is invited to make his/her acquaintance with bands which (s)he may otherwize only have come across by chance.

Daughters

This Providence, Rhode Island based band is was, or rather, is once again...one of the somewhat aberrant acts in the New England Hardcore and Noise scenes from the latter decade. Intro sounding a bit weird? Well, that's in character with the band's music and vocal approach then!

Culted

Okay...so the story of the formation of this band is somewhat peculiar, but also not unthinkable in these days of Internet communications. You know, the four members of Culted have never actually been together in one room, but is that actually such an amazing feat? I mean, if musicians from different sides of the globe can contribute to songs written by others, why could they not switch ideas back an forth in order to write music together? I mean, it's been done before, you know!

Crippled Black Phoenix

I'd already listened to this album a couple of times prior to checking the info, and in doin' so some preliminary thoughts had already come through my mind, such as “occasional '70s Prog Rock sensibilities in a modern Prog Rock act with occasional Doom intensities”, “occasional resemblances to the Space Rock of Hawkwind”, and more...but foremost I was thinking, “Haven't I heard something by this band before?”!

Code Blue Coma

Gee...goin' on the enormous discrepancy of info on this Mönchengladback based German Hardcore act on the Internet, one would almost think they prefer to stay in anonymity. Not really a good way for a band to promote itself or, as more in tune with the Hardcore scene, to disperse your messages to a maximum of possibly concerned/ sensitive people!

Brainstorm

Brainstorm was founded in 1989 by Torsten Ihlenfeld, Milan Loncaric and drummer Dieter Bernert. The first few years of their life cycle saw the band build a solid groundwork with several demo releases and live appearances. In 1997, the band signed their first record deal and released the self-produced Hungry”album witch received good critics.

Bleeding Fist

It’s not a secret anymore, I guess, to admit my passionate devotion to the Moribund Cult (read: Moribund Records). Only once in a while I do not get that ecstatically horny by a release via this Washington-based top-label, and that was, unfortunately, the case with Bleeding Fist’s 2011-EP Devil’s Ferox … It was not bad, but compared with former material by this Slovenian band, I thought it was a step back (see update August 7th 2011 within the Archive-tab).

Bigelf

It's hard to believe we've gone nearly six years without a new Bigelf album. Sadly, this isn't the album I was hoping for.

Bayside

Bayside is an American punk/rock band from Queens NY formed somewhere in the winter of 2000. Current members are Anthony Raneri (Vocals, Guitar), Jack O’Shea (Lead Guitar), Nick Ghanbarian (Bass) and Chris Guglielmo (Drums).

Bad Guys

Although this Heavy Psych Rock band is based in London (England), there isn't one Londoner among its members, one being an Hungarian, another being of Canadian extract, and the two Britons in the band hailing from the South and Midlands of England.
