Azoria

Leader of this new band is none other than Alexander Oriz, who’s the guitarist in Reinxeed, but has also founded  a band named after his own name Oriz.  Other musicians in this band are Chris David on bass, also known from Reinxeed, aswell as Simon Jonsonn, who toured with Reinxeed and finally Emil Eriksson, known from Oriz and JD Miller.

Axxis

25 years ago, Axxis released their ‘Kingdom Of The Night’ album on EMI Records.  To celebrate this, they’ve released ‘Kingdom Of The Night II’, and even made two versions, a Black Edition, that contains heavier tracks, and a White Edition, that contains quieter songs and ballads.  Both albums are separately available. I cannot say anything about the black edition, since I didn’t get a copy of it, so let’s stick to the white edition instead.

Asia

Another of these bands that seem to have existed forever, and despite not receiving much attention in the regular press nor on the mainstream airwaves, continue to record and release new albums.  And on this album, there still are three of the four original band members giving acte de presence.

Ancient Ascendant

Ancient Ascendant are an English four-piece that recorded two minis and one full length before. When it comes to the latter, that full length, which was called The Grim Awakening, I would kindly like to ask you to search for the review done by truly-yours-undersigned, posted on October 2nd 2011 as part of the ‘Siege Of Amida Records Special 2011” I did.

15 Reasons

Fellow countrymen, rejoice, for a new star (could be born)…15 Reasons are a Belgian band, hailing from Brussels, and this is already their third album.

Why do I state a new star could be born.  I’ll explain myself.  It’s not that often in our beloved genre that I’ve had the chance to hear a band that could stand it’s ground against any other foreign band.  There are exceptions of course, like Channel Zero and a few select other bands.  But this band certainly is a serious contender.

W.E.T.

This is a recording of an exclusive show W.E.T. played at the Debaser Club in Stockholm, Sweden, to celebrate the release of the ‘Rise Up’ album.  The album contains songs of both albums W.E.T. has released so far. The double album opens up with ‘Walk Away’, and immediately you get the feeling that this must have been one hellluva show.  With top musicians like Jeff Scot Soto, Robert Säll, and Erik Martenson who’d have thought otherwise.

Kyng

Kyng a new band founded in Los Angeles in 2008. You can compare their sound with Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age and The Sword, yes Heavy metal, Stoner Metal and hard Rock. Only three members counting band: Eddie Veliz (vocals/guitar), Pepe Clarke (drums) and Tony Castaneda (bass/backup vocals).

Killface

Finally! Finally! Finally! It was a promise to have a full album ‘soon’, but it took too long! Anyway, finally here it is…

What I mean is this. Irish act Killface did release the mini-album Faceless via on January 1st 2011. Undersigned was enormously enthusiastic about this stuff (see update of January 4th 2011 within the Archive-tab). Said was, via bio and the band itself, that this mini wasn’t ‘but an appetizer’ for the upcoming full length, but indeed, it took three years, three awfully long, empty years…

Graveborne

Finnish band Graveborne was formed in 2008 by Black Crucifixion’s Marchosias (guitars) and drummer Pentele (live-musician for Black Crucifixion). They released an EP in 2009 (Astride Over The Grave) and a first full length in 2011 (Pure Negativity, via Nykta).

Esoterica

Esoterica were formed in 2011 by Alexander Poole when his main act Chaos Moon split up (FYI: Chaos Moon reformed very recently). Under the moniker of Esoterica, he released a couple of EP’s and a split, and now also a full album, called Aseity. This one is produced and mixed by Kate Nathan, the guy behind the Plastik Musik-label (which did release the 2012-split New World Black Metal), who took care of the artwork as well.
