If I'm reading my info sources correctly, this Chicago based Blackened Sludge-Noise act was founded in 2003 by the trio of singer/ guitarist Dylan O'Toole, bassist Ron Devries, and drummer Brian Lynn, and in that line-up not only self-released their 3-track 11-minute debut EP God Slave, but also their (11-track, 54-minute) debut album The Unquiet Sky, issued in May 2005 on the Seventh Rule Recordings label.
To my great surprise, the history of this Geneva based Swiss EmoCore act goes back to 1996, when a line-up comprised of brothers Michael (vocals & guitar) an David Schindl (drums) alongside brothers Thierry and Didier Baertschiger (respectively guitar and bass) recorded the band's self-released and self-titled debut single.
When Nathan Gray (also in the like-it-or-leave-it formation Boysetsfire; personally I am part of the ‘leave-it’ trend) formed I Am Heresy in 2011, he wanted to express his passion for complex Extreme Metal. He wrote and recorded a first (self-titled) album shortly after, with assistance of his son Simon, who did the main guitar parts.
Although one would expect either a Dutch or Dutch speaking Belgian band here, Huis is really a Montreal based Canadian band...but they dó have a thing about the Netherlands (more commonly known as Holland), though!
