Apparently this young Dallas-based act (as a matter of fact, they did exist a time ago but without anything important to add, and they did reform recently) consists of former or current members from e.g. Kill The Client, Baring Teeth and Tyrannosorceress, so you surely can imagine a specific angle of technically-oriented aggression for sure. And indeed, that’s what Cleric stand for. The band did record this debut full length studio album with Garry Brents, known from e.g.
The music takes the time to get the musical message across and while there aren't many show-off passages there is a huge amount of detail in the numerous instruments and vocals that will show themselves on repeated listens. Zappa, King Crimson and even Motorpsycho fans will be able to mine Carpet’s rich seams of passionate, beautifully crafted songs till their minds are buried in Elysian Fields.
Pennsylvania's Argus stormed onto the underground metal scene with their doom/progressive metal sound. They released a self-recorded demo in early 2007 on “Bland Hand Records”. Their self-titled debut album soon followed and was released in May of 2009.
To those music lovers at home in the world of Progressive Death Metal, the Swede Dan Swanö will be somewhat of a legend, known in the first place from his fronting role as lead singer/ bassist in the bands/ projects Edge Of Sanity, Nightingale (where he was the drummer), and Bloodbath (where he handles both drums and guitar.

While at University Of Manchester, lead singer/ bassist Sideeq Mohammed, guitarist David Gwynn and drummer Daniel Mucs (also known from the bands Collibus and Wolfcrusher) founded NAE in late 2009, with the intention of developing a unique brand of Metal driven by brutality and technical precision.
An album by guitarist/ singer Leslie West is always a joy to come across, except when you're a music critic and know that the website you work for has never before done a review of the man's previous work. Because, you see, that means I have t bring up the man's career from the beginning, doesn't it? Well, I promise to not elaborate too much, because West's history goes back quite a while!
Hybris is a London based technical thrash metal band witch concept started originally in distant 2002, when Federica (Centurions Ghost) made camp in London and started writing riffs for what would have been an all-female metal band. However, finding the right people seemed to be a big issue.
People into French Psychedelica will need no further introduction about this band, in which singer/ guitarist/ songwriter Gregory Raimu brings the highest notes, and those needing it anyway are welcome to check out the reviews I made for his GR & Full Blown Expansion album (posted 03/01/2010) and his (third) solo album A Reverse Age (posted 30/05/ 2013).
No doubt about it, since his departure from Dream Theater, drummer Mike Portnoy has been anything but idle.
