Mammoth Grinder

The fourth album from Austin-based Mammoth Grinder blasts immediately into brutal black n’ roll hell with the title track. Underworlds hit the decks with full on angry grind core  (Napalm Death, Pig Destroyer) and punky sounding-like thrash/death metal (Discharge, Obituary, Municipal Waste)) like “Underworlds”, “Wraparound eyes” and a hint of Entombed/Unleashed with exceptional guitar solos, pounding drums and a Randy Blythe-like growl bite that hurts for days.

Devildriver

Devildriver, A band from Santa Barbara California (whose name refers to bells Italian witches used to drive evil forces away) from hit singles like “Hold back the day” or “Clouds over California”. This time the band returns after their previous album (witch wasn’t that long ago) and is about to unleash its latest album called Winter Kills.

Checkmate

Checkmate is one of the many metalcore bands that seem to exist to put out angry sounding records that show a lot of brainless stomping furious energy. What holds me back on this album is that there is a sense of exhaustion that builds as the album wears on. It's all pretty standard stuff that's been done before, and done better.

Bombus

This band started out in Gothenburg by Feffe and Matte in late 2008 as a two piece who wrote a few songs together that were influenced by some of their favorite bands like: The Melvins, Black Sabbath, The Jesus Lizard and Poison Idea.

Seventh Veil

For those familiar with the Dallas, Texas based Heavy Metal act which released the well-worthy 6-track EP Primer, back in 1996...do not confuse with this Hard Rock act from Verona (the one from North-East Italy situated between Milano and Venice...nót the cities in either New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Wisconsin)!

Rocky Shades’Wildside Riot

Does anyone remember the glam metal band Wratchild? They were fronted by none other than Mr. Rocky Shades. But with this new band/line up, he does not completely draw the card of glam/sleaze metal, but have instead mixed in some other elements, but the final conclusion after listening to this album is that is really is a glam/sleaze metal album.

James Christian

Despite being the frontmen of House Of Lords, James Christian has so far released two solo albums, the 1994 ‘Rude Awakening’ and the 2004 ‘Meet The Man’, he will now rejoice the world of AOR rockers with this opus ‘Lay It All On Me’, his third album. Of course with Mr. Christian you know you’re gonna get some good vocals, and that’s exactly what you get on this album.  As a matter of fact I think he has always been a bit underrated as a vocalist and I hope that this will change with this album.
