Blunt Knife Idol

Dutch three-piece Blunt Knife Idol (bassist / vocalist / founding member Herrie, guitarist / music- & lyric-writer Arco, and drummer Tony) release their debut (?) via their own label Herrie Records (and herrie means something like noise or uproar or tumult), being a collection of twenty five pisses, sorry, pieces of old schooled Death / Grind.

Skady

Germany’s Skady return with their third album, When Sun Disappeared, after several years of silence. The album is a first part of a space-themed trilogy, which was recorded and mixed at the Rosenquarz Studio. It gets released the digital way by the band itself (digital), but apparently there is a CD-edition too via Metallic Media (hey pals, are you still in touch?). The album consists of nine tracks and lasts for fifty three minutes.

Star Industry

One of the most relevant / impressive / influential bands within the international Dark Wave / Gothic Rock scene for sure was Belgian act Star Industry. They did record several albums, both full length and mini, before, which were, without exception, highly appreciated by both press and audience. But it has been quite some time… However, the fans would have been surprised last year, when the band released a new single last year, Eyline, once again via Brussels-based Alfa Matrix.

Shrapnel Storm

After a hand full of demonstrational releases, Finland’s ‘Old School Death Metal BulldozerShrapnel Storm finally come up with their debut album, peacefully called Mother War. The quintet joined forces with the German (Thrash) Metal label Witches Brew to have this stuff released. It consists of ten new and older ‘songs’, clocking thirty eight minutes in its totality.

Mother War brings nothing new / renewing at all. Damn, this sounds like a depressing introduction…

Sangre De Muerdago

The Spanish combo Sangre De Muerdago does exist for about a decade, and they became quite an important name within the European (Neo) Folk scene in mean time. Several of their former releases, like the mighty split with Novemthree, are sort of ‘popular’ by the (underground) scene, but one of their strengths for sure is the soberness and integrity, which makes their approach somewhat distinctive from the main part of the genre.

Dulia

Dulia are a totally new project from Sicily, formed by three extremely talented musicians: Vincenzo ‘K. Mega’ Giuffrè (keyboards and drum programming) (think: Abgott, Throne Of Molok, Beasts Of Torah etc.), Elio ‘Elagabal’ Mangiaracina (bass and vocals) (known from Psychopath Witch especially), and Tony ‘Zagreus’ Frenda (guitars, vocals) (ex-Tragoidia, Necrosis, Thrash Bombz, Kawir etc.).

Sea Of Despair

Sea Of Despair are a Russian combo that did celebrate its tenth anniversary earlier this year. Throughout the past decade, they did record and release a handful of EP’s as well as two full lengths. One of those, Mоре Отчaяния (aka More Otchayaniya, which means ‘sea of despair’), was released in June 2009 via Wolfshade Records.

Horrific Disease

Yesterday we did (finally) update the review for the six-way split 6 Ways Of Hell, which was a collaboration done by Russia’s top-label Satanath Records at the one hand, and six bands / projects from the East of Asia at the other: Barzakh (Indonesia), Goresluts (Malaysia), Savage Deity (Thailand), Shadowmirth (Brunei), Suicidal (Singapore), and last but not least, Japanese duo Horrific Disease (Makoto Mizoguchi and Haruhisa Takahat

Délétère (2)

Recently I wrote a review for the demo-collection De Retibus Morbiferis – Demo Compendium, which did collect the 2012- and 2013-demos Inopia Et Morbo and Sacrificium Necrothytum. That release must be considered as sort of gift to us, dear listeners, or as an additional highlight to Délétère’s debut full length album Les Heures De La Peste. …with eternal gratitude to Québec-based Sepulchral Productions. For the review: see update on December 22nd 2015!

Grieving Mirth

Grieving Mirth hail from the border in between Mexico (Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas) and the U.S. (Laredo, Texas), formed by Mexican guitarist Abomination (Luciferian Rites, Demon Kultur) and North-American key-master Adversor (think Nethermost, Mysteria Inframundi, Wraith Of Extinction), and nowadays extended / strengthened by English blood (vocalist D.H., formerly of Criptum-fame, and nowadays involved with e.g.
