Coliseum

Coliseum are a young project from the city of Liège, Belgium, which includes members of Sercati / The Nightstalker (their albums have been reviewed by undersigned – enter the band’s name in the ‘search’-tab to read the reviews on them) and (in mean time) Zardens (latest album reviewed as well; check it out via the very same approach). The band’s existence is based on a concept, and as the moniker sort of says, it indeed has to do with the glorious gladiator fights at the Coliseum in Rome.

Antzaat

You know, I was sort of depressed, for I didn’t hear anything about Immortal Frost Productions and possible new releases anymore since quite some time. In very early Spring this year, this Belgian label released Satan Ov Suns by Scandinavian top-act Doedsvargr, yet then all noise faded away into an ear-piercing silence. So imagine my semi-happiness when noticing that the label came back quite recently with – evidently – again a superb release.

Skag Arcade

What I do appreciate when referring to Spain-based Craneal Fracture Records’ roster is the diversity Jose Murcia and his crew have to offer. Everything that dwells within regions of Harsh Noise, Musique Concrète, Experimental Drone, Field Recordings, Noise Wall, Power Electronics and the likes might pass by. Even some extremer sub-genres of the Metal area are represented from time to time.

Culto Negro

For one reason or another, Satanath Records and sub-label Symbol Of Domination Productions have some secret passion for the Costa Rican Extreme Metal scene.

Digital Nova

I had not heard of Digital Nova before, to be honest, but this Marseille, France-based act already released a full length before: Alpha Omega, released in 2013. And what’s more, there was an EP in 2010, so this band is not exactly a newcomer within the French scene. They also gained a modest yet not unimportant name live on stage, sharing those stages with acts such as Mass Hysteria, AqME or Tagada Jones.

Rance

I will start with a sad advertisement: Misandreproductions are no more (weeping smiley included…). The store is still active, but unfortunately there will be no more new releases in the future. Don’t ask me why, for that’s of no importance, but I’ll miss them.

Bait

Bait are a German combo that did surprise me quite intensively in early 2014 with their Cursed Among Saints EP. The most revealing element was the ease of combining things: modernism with old school, rhythm with melody, speed with slowness, all kinds of emotions, and the contrastic yet, in this case, quite symbiotic styles: Hardcore and Post-Hardcore, Sludgy Doom and Black Metal. Their success exponentially grew, quite fast, and the band was able to play live all over European soil.

Alphaxone & ProtoU

Float weightless in the void to the sound of exploding supernovas.
A solid thump closes the airclock behind you. Greeting your vision, a myriad of stars shining like beacons in black space. Rapid fingers across the uplink to the mothership ‘feed my cat while I’m gone’.
The engine roars as the plasma ions accelerates. The mothership but a pixel left behind. Your ships humming soothes your excitement as you set out for new unexplored worlds.
