Thanatos from Holland can be considered as one of the first wave of European Thrash bands as their history goes back as far as the mid eighties... GLOBAL  PURIFICATION  is the 6 th full length release since.

Before I joined Concreteweb’s crew, I wrote reviews for my own sake. I made one for each single recording I bought (tapes, vinyl, and as from the Nineties also CD’s) for my own pleasure. Then, almost fifteen years ago, I joined Concreteweb (it’s a dirty job but someone has to do it; and how else would this label gain such a superior status if I wasn’t involved? …indeed, I thought so…).

Remete is a new project by Hungarian artist János Madura, currently active in Slumbersun and formerly known from Zebaoth or Our God Weeps as well. And if I am not mistaken, it’s the same guy involved with e.g. Kriegsfall-U and Mortem too.

Well, when talking about ‘sonic confusion’ (isn’t that a subject we’re dealing with every single day? no?), please enter Necrosadik. Nowadays this Mexican one-man outfit, formed in 2008, implements some metalized elements, but that wasn’t the case in the past. Katharsis is a perfect example of this schizoid outfit. I firstly ‘met’ them thanks, once again, to Satanath’s master brain ;-) Aleksey, by the way…

The 4^th full length from these Swiss prog/power , for a band that’s been around  for 15 years that’s not  a lot and for me it’s the first  introduction to the band.  There was a time in the mid eighties and early nineties that this sort  melodic  prog/power metal was  the playground of  a limited number of bands from the USA .  Indeed  like FATES WARNING, LETHAL ,CRIMSON GLORY  early DREAM THEATER have set a standard back then which in my opinion is still not matched by  any of  prog power  metal albums released the last 10  years or so….

Weltfeind is a new label (actually it started in 2013), with three releases until now. It was founded by D., the guy who runs the superb Martial Industrial-label Castellum Stoufenburc as well.

A SLUDGE/DOOM  EP from BRAZIL is what I have on my platter, as  SLUDGE  it hard to chew and  even harder to swallow…  The  3 Tracks on ARCHAIC – good for  about 23 minutes of  heaviness are  a fine introduction to  the band  especially  CURRENTS OF IO   the longest and last  track  got my attention with his spoken intro ( seems like an introduction to a documentary of our solar system)  and continues monotone riffing which takes the listener on a  10 minute trip into deep space.

I have to admit that I am not that trusted with the Grind-scene from Australia; on the contrary. I even wasn’t trusted with Blastafuk Grindcore’s roster, but apparently this must be one of the most prominent Grind-labels from Down Under. Will Internal Rot start the new hype?

Harmony  is a Swedish metal band, that was formed in 2000 by Markus Sigfridsson.  They recorded a demo in 2001, and recorded their first album ‘Dreaming Awake’ in 2002, which was released via Massacre Records in 2003.  Their second album ‘Chapter II : Aftermath’ was released on Ulterium Records in 2008. This is their third album, and the second one released via Ulterium Records.
