Temple Of Baal

I never hided my appreciation for the French Black / Death Metal scene, and one of the (many) reasons is called Temple Of Baal. For more than a decade, they do please my aural organs with hateful and unholy blasphemy. And still via the excellent Agonia-label, the band (Amduscias, Arkdaemon and Skvm; in mean time joined by Cruxifiction’s Saroth) returns with the fourth full length, which lasts for about an hour.

Polluted Inheritance

Another re-release by Dutch Vic Records, Polluted Inheritance’s 1996-album Betrayed. It was the band’s second full length studio album, originally released via DSFA Records (think: Within Temptation, Callenish Circle, Orphanage, Tenebris etc.). Earlier this year, we could also enjoy the re-release of this band’s 1992-debut, Ecocide, which undersigned was able to review as well.

Necrowretch

I’m pretty sure, in case I would be interested in composing an end year’s list for 2013, that French horde Necrowretch will be part of it by means of the band’s debut full length Putrid Death Sorcery, which was released on January 28th via current label Century Media (review updated on May 9th). So could you imagine my enthusiasm when receiving this new album. However, as the title suggests, Bestial Rites 2009-2012 isn’t a new studio recording, but a compilation.

Mortician

Chainsaw Dismemberment is the re-issue of Mortician’s second full length, now done once more on vinyl (double-LP). The band actually was formed at the very end of the eighties, but it took a decade before being able to release two full lengths: Hacked Up For Barbecue in 1996, and this specific second one in 1999. There was much more studio activity during the earlier 2000’s, but that’s another story.

Wild Zombie Blast Guide

A German group with members: Frbs, Mrsch, Ril, Jrn and Twist became Z boy, Reverend Z, Officer Z, Doctor Z and Z Machine. Playing modern trash.

Salute the Commander” their second album will be released at 30/01/2014 2 years after their first album “Wild Zombie Blast Guide”. The opener first song on the album starts with a great controlled riff with a nice drum rhythm and explode right in your ears, Salute!!!!

Wheel of Smoke

A couple of years ago, I gave the band’s debut In Sense a big thumbs up, primarly for the way they managed to bring so many different influences together for a veritable progressive rock smorgasbord. Everything from Opeth, King Crimson, Agalloch, Ozric Tentacles and Comus.

Van Canto

Van Canto a German A cappella Metal band? Never heard about them…they chose this name because it sound almost the same as Van Halen! Formed in 2006 present members are: Dennis "Sly" Schunke (lead vocals), Inga Scharf (lead vocals), Ross Thompson (higher rakkatakka vocals), Stefan Schmidt (lower rakkatakka vocals, solo rakkatakka vocals), Ingo "Ike" Sterzinger (bass vocals) and Bastian Emig (drums).

The KVB

The KVB, according to the (really very limited) info sheet that came along with the download promo of the album: “...an audio-visual project of the from London hailing Nicholas Wood and Kat Day, whom together combine heavy wall-of-sound guitar wok with synths, drum machines and stretched vocals...think Jesus And The Mary Chain, anno now! The KVB has done several European headliner tours, did tours in the US, and will be doin' Australia during 2014 with Brian Jonestown Massacre.
