Fallen Arise

The idea for this Greek Symphonic Metal band was spawned in 2009, when guitarist Frangiskos and keyboardist Gus Dibelas (then already also in Power Metal act Secret Illusion, and since 2010 also active in Wolfcry) got together to write a couple of songs.

Falkenbach

Gosh...considering that Falkenbach have been around since 1989, released 5 full-length albums prior to this one since 1996, and are a known entity within the Viking/ Black/ Folk Metal scene, I am kind of surprised to find this album come my way for review. Perhaps our specialist already had enough on his plate (as per usual, by the way!)?

Duncan Evans

Following the release of his debut single “Bird Of Prey” b/w “She And I Must Part” (released in April; review by yours truly posted somewhere in July of last year), Duncan Evans finally found his debut solo album released in mid-November (and, yes, we know...we have quite some delay reviewing the thing, but you should see the backlog of releases we get to do each month, with a far to small staff...in fact, our editor-in-chief has trouble downloading all that promo material which in the past was sént to us by mail, you know, and I only got this album in my to-do box

Demon Eye

Perhaps the best way to describe the sound of Demon Eye is to imagine early Pentagram if they were heavily Purple influenced. If you can imagine that sound, and if you think you'd like it, then this bunch of demons might be right up your alley. It's pure vintage doom rock with no frills, no edgy alternative angles and no apologies.

Däng

Däng is a progressive rock/metal band from Lenoir, NC. And are about to release their debut album entitled: "Tartarus: The Darkest Realm". It’s a progressive metal / hard rock concept album inspired by mythological suffering, detailing some of the inhabitants of the pit of Hades in Greek mythology.

Chrome Division

Chrome Division a heavy metal ban from Norway formed in 2004. Current members are: Shady Blue (vocals - aka Athera), Kjell Aage Karlsen (lead guitar - aka Damage), Stian Tomt Thoresen (rhythm guitar - aka Shagrath), Åge Trøite – (bass guitar –aka Ogee) and Tony White (drums). The influences from Black Label Society, Spiritual Beggars and AC/DC or a perfect blend of dirty rock, stoner rock and even elements of metal.

Cemetery Dance

Cemetety Dance are a band hailing from Athens, Greece, and the music they play is difficult to fit into a specific genre.  It’s a if they’ve mixed some late 80ies metal, with punk, but with a dose of trash, rockabilly, and even now and then a dose of death metal vocals thrown in as well.

Which makes it hard to write a review about.  I mean there are parts I like, songs I like, but there are other parts and songs I don’t like at all.  On top of that if you ask me the production isn’t that good, which in the end means that I don’t like the album as whole.

Canterbury

Canterbury in an Englisch rock band, formed in Farnham, Surrey 2005. The current members are Luke Prebble (lead vocals, bass guitar), Mike Sparks (vocals, guitar), James Pipe (guitar) and Chris Velissarides (drums, percussion).

Beastmilk

Born in the winter of early 2010, this Helsinki based Finnish quartet founded by guitarist Goatspeed and singer Kvohst (whom has been in British Black Metal act Code, spent time with Norway's Dodheimsgard, and has a tenure with Freak Folk band Hexvessel), soon released its debut demo White Stains On Black Wax featuring two songs in a style which they themselves dubbed “Apocalyptic Post-Punk”, and sold it out in record time.
