Having come across this Swedish Post Metal act at a relatively early stage in their career (namely at the occasion of their second album, 2003's The Beyond, which I reviewed at the time), I have been able to witness this band's progression (after having reviewed the band's 5^th album Somewhere Along The Highway, posted 22/04/2006 and still available for your scrutiny in this site's “Archive” section, I even went out to buy the band's compete back catalog, and later even got 2008's Eternal Kingdom, even though we at Concrete Web

The first time history heard of the guitar player Bruce Bouillet (whom, in deference of his French sounding name was born in Memphis, Tennessee), is when he became a member of supergroup Racer X in 1986. He left that band in 1989, contributing to the 1987 Second Heat album, and could also be found on the live albums Extreme Volume Live (1988) and Extreme Volume II Live (1992), which were all released through cult label Shrapnel Records.

On Shelter, Alcest for the first time drops all connections with its Black Metal origins, and concentrates purely on the Atmospheric Shoegaze part of its music! You see, when singer/ multi-instrumentalist Neige started Alcest in 2000 as a solo project in Bagnols-sur-Cèze (southern France, more precisely the Languedoc-Rousillon area – Neige later relocating to Paris), he'd envisioned it as an outlet to create a cold and raw Black Metal.

I was really surprised when I opened my mailbox and saw there was a new Volture album came my way. 2012 wasn’t a easy year for the band around Ryan Waste (Municipal Waste) and guitarplayer Nick Poulos (Cannabis Corpse). Their label had to quit due some problems, their vocalist quitted after the European tour and after that tour there where only depts left. But now on the start of the new year fresh material is ready.

“The Exploited” a Scottish punk band founded by Wattie Buchan in 1980. Made eight Studio albums. In 1990 they made the album “The Massacre”. 16 punk numbers just one song with the F-word in the title. They don’t hesitate to use ruff language and sexually vocabulary. But “punk’s not death” first album made in 1981.To complete your collection of punk records buy this record it is a must have item. Now they re-mastered their 3 last albums and will be available at 14/03/2014.

“The Exploited” a Scottish punk band founded by Wattie Buchan in 1980. Made eight Studio albums. In 2003 they made the album “Fuck The System”. This album was even available in the US with a “clean version” censored with “F**** the System”. This is the album with the most F**** in the titles of their songs. The quality of this album is much better than their earlier work (The Massacre and Beat the Bastards). Better sound and well produced. And now they re-mastered this album and will be available at 14/03/2014.

“The Exploited” a Scottish punk band founded by Wattie Buchan in 1980. This is the seventh of the eight Studio albums they made In 1996 “Beat The Bastards”. I love the cover of this album a nice picture. This album made a change in their music. More musicianship, more professional and dedicated text. A well chosen turn to professional music makers. In some numbers is the boundary between metal and punk very thin, like “System Fucked Up”. Great guitar riffs and a great solo. The good old punk, a part of my own youth.

Hailing from Springfield, Illinois, Suffer The Wrath have created two self-recorded EP’s before, Suffer The Wrath and Buried In Blood (2009 and 2012 respectively). Right now they are working on the debut full length (which will probably be entitled Opposition Dethroned), but for now we will have to do with the band’s third EP, Divine Sign, which was recorded entirely (engineering, mix, mastering) at Manuf(r)actured Media with Jon Dale.

“Sonata Artica” a powermetalband from Finland. Named before “Tricky Beans (1996), Tricky Means (1997) and in 1999 finally they chooses “Sonata Arctica”. The sound is more Melodic than power but is well accepted in the powermetal community. They made before 7 albums with success last one “Stones Grow Her Name” sold 2100 copies in the first week of the release.
