Saltatio Mortis

Saltatio Mortis is a German medieval metal band. Their name is Latin witch means “dance of death”. It’s an allusion to the “Dance Of Death”, and a motto of the band is: “He who dances does not die.” Unfortunately I don’t understand any German, and their official website and Facebook have no translated version so I couldn’t find out anything about these lads.

Pat Travers

Pat Travers.  For the younger of you this name probably means nothing, but for the veterans like me it does.  Way back in the late seventies, early eighties he was a relatively well known guitarist/vocalist.

NunSlaughter

Hells headbangers are so kind to compile, and release, some stuff once provided on vinyl before, by ultra-active entity NunSlaughter. More specific: this first part of the The Devil Congeries series consists of material taken from thirteen 7”EP’s, amongst which some split material and live stuff. …Volume 1 offers you twenty nine ‘songs’ that were studio-recorded, and the same number of tracks that were recorded live and released under the Hell On-moniker.

Lacrimas Profundere

Lacrimas Profundere from Germany are back with a new release on Napalm Records, called Antiadore, which has a total running time of forty five minutes. And I’ll be honest: I’ve never been a huge amateur of this band. This album won’t change my opinion. For the better part, Antiadore goes on in the vein of some of the latest records like Songs For The Last View or The Grandiose Nowhere.

Insanity

This review deals with a re-issued release of Californian act Insanity. This band was formed during the eighties and one of the (many) American acts back then that played Death Metal in its purest form, yet unmodestly injected with furious Thrash-nastiness. They recorded some demonstrational material, and in 1994 they were finally able to release their debut full length, Death After Death, via the very small and shortly living German label M.B.R. Records.

Honduran

Honduran is a 3-piece grind core metal band situated in Portland. However, Corey (bass/vocals) is from Phoenix, AZ. Jason (guitar/vocals) is from Winchester, VA. Kevin (drums/no vocals) is from Alpena, MI. But now hey all live in Portland. I have to say, that this is definitely not a mainstream band in every aspect. Their music, their sound, their looks and even their Facebook profile. To explain it a bit more, this is a band I would go see in a squatted building, and that’s exactly how they sound.

Hod

Despite the title, The Uncreated Demo isn’t just a demonstrational effort by Hod. It’s a real teaser for the upcoming Book Of The Worm album, which will come out later this year (I hope I will have the opportunity to review the stuff, dear website’s Master Chief). I was, for your interest, pleased and surprised by Serpent, which came out at the very end of 2009 (see review posted on March 13th 2010).

Heretic

Dutch Heretic were formed in North Brabant, Holland, in 1995. Throughout the past years, they recorded a handful of (excellent) albums: Black Metal Holocaust (1999), Devilworshipper (2003), and after a temporary split Gods Over Humans, Slaves Under Satan (2008); they also released some splits (e.g.

Headless

Line up:

Göran Edman- vocals

Walter Cianciusi - vocals, guitars, bass

Dario Parente - guitars

Scott Rockenfield - drums

After nearly 13 years of absence, the Italian guitarists Walter Ciancuisi and Dario Parente back on track. To blow new life into the band they decided to work with some well-known names, drummer Scott Rockfield (Queensryche) and singer Goran Edman (Yngwie Malmsteen, John Nurum).

Gut Scrapers

Gut Scrapers, a band that hails from Nimes, France. This five membered band delivers an energetic Rock'n roll that can best be compared to other bands such as: Ac/Dc, Aerosmith as well as artists such as Slash. These French rockers who are at it for some time do love to keep a low profile as the have a very limited English biography, but a very long French one.
