Bangladeafy

What sounds like a silly bandname, is derived from a combination of this duo's drummer Atif Haq's Bangladeshi origins, and bassist/ pianist Johnny Germ (real name Jon Ehlers)'s sensio-neural hearing loss...and that makes the bandname a little less silly, now doesn't it?

Annihilator

Letting me review Canada's top selling Thrash Metal act Annihilator's 2005 and 2007 albums Schizo Deluxe and Metal, our editor-in-chief suddenly (if I remember correctly, I was kinda swamped in other work in those days, with new labels the Chief had pulled in and which needed to be impressed by our writing skills) relegated the job of auditing the band's self-titled 2010 album to colleague Jeroen, whom made that a relatively good but short job!.

Claes Anderson / Kalevi Seilonen / Erkki Kurenniemi / Otto Donner

In their on-going quest for musical oddities, the guys at Ektro Records came across this truly wacky recording, which may well be considered as one of the first encounters of Spoken Word with Electronic Music. Now, seek as you will, you won't find any info on this project except on the label's website (which is also where you'll find a link to two sound samples from the album at SoundCloud.

A2aThoT

A2aThoT are the solo project by a Portuguese guy with the very same (professional) moniker, and this mini-record (24:23 minutes for three titles) is the successor of the self-called 2012-full length. In the vein of that first album, Trust Your Ear stands for an eclectic and eccentric mixture of different musical genres. Basically, the project brings a mixture of Doom Metal and creepy Psychedelica of a highly experimental kind. The psychedelic experimentation, however, isn’t of the tech-progressive yet rather atmospheric and ambientally industrialised.

Vindictiv

The mastermind behind this band/project is Swedish guitarist Stefan Lindholmd who formerly played in the band Raven Lord.  Having released two previous Vindictiv albums, the 2008 ‘Vindictiv’ album and 2009’s follow up album ‘Ground Zero’, here we have the third opus.  And for this third album, it is no longer Goran Edman who does the vocals, but Marco Sandron (ex Eden’s Curse) has taken over the mike.

U.D.O.

After leaving Accept, and forming his own band U.D.O. mister Dirkschneider has kept on releasing album after album, sticking to it’s musical Accept roots so to speak.

The Poodles

If you’re into glam rock, then this album must sound like sheer heaven to you.  It’s crammed full of ballsy, energetic and also quite catchy songs from start to finish.

Not only are the songs great in itself, but the performance these musicians deliver us is also outstanding.  And don’t forget Jakob Samuelsson, the vocalist.  At first you think he has a rather high pitched voice, but as a matter of fact he has a rather wide vocal range.

Orchestre De Trenos

This Ukrainian musical project (a hybridisation of Neo-Classical with modern metal) was created by  composer and Ph.D. philosopher Andrey Komisarenko, and guitarist Alexander Glavniy, with work started on January 18, 2010 at Autumnia Studio (Glavniy's own recording space).

Mastercastle

For their fourth studio album this band has give us a rather short album, since the playing time lies around 40 minutes only, something we were used to back in the time of vinyl, but which is rather exceptional nowadays.
