Who the heck is Hasse Fröberg I asked myself, when I got this CD to review.  As it turns out – after some googling, Hasse Fröberg  is the current vocalist/guitarist of Swedish band the Flower Kings, and before that he toured with Swedish hard rock band Spellbound.  When his band Flower Kings decided to put the activities on low for some time, he decided to form his own band and since he had some material left he had written, but was not quite suite for the Flower Kings.  They started in 2008, and this is already their third album so far.

Basically, what you get on this album, is music that is reminiscent of some of the stuff that was released in the late seventies, early eighties.  It’s as if you were listening to a mix of predominantly Yes, but with some Deep Purple and Uriah Heep thrown in as well.  Some nostalgic progressive rock so to speak of, but I also hear some jazzy elements in this music.

His voice, what a coincidence, sounds strangely alike that of Jon Anderson. So do not expect much grumbling or shouting, but a rather warm, somewhat high-pitched voice. All in all I found this a very decent album.
