‘Ayyadieh’ refers to a hill where the ‘noble’ King Richard I aka ‘Lionheart’ did massacre hundreds, maybe thousands ‘enemies’ (women and kids included) at the end of the 12^th century. This vengeful thing did happen for real, even-though there is a certain ‘legendary’ veil that covers this story, that glorious expression of revenge against the Muslims (led by the famous sultan Saladin) in a period of conquer and rivalry. It’s a bloodred chapter in history at the time of crusades, marking the blood-thirsty competition of religious fanatism.

I won’t go too deep at all into this band’s biography / discography, because you do know this Italian act for sure (in two years, these guys will celebrate their three decades of existence!), and it would bring me too far. I’ll go to the content immediately, and this time it deals with a compilation, actually, i.e. a collection of new and live tracks gathered as Rustworn.

I am not sure whether I can call Funeral Chasm a side-project of Above Ravens, but this new entity was formed in early 2020 by two members of this fine yet truly underestimated Pagan act from Danish soil. The label Abstract Trauma Recordings is quite a young one, inspired by the surreal and freakish sounds created by man(kind) (‘man’ is not always that ‘kind’, so I have an aversion to use the definition ‘mankind’) – or entities related to man(un)kind somehow.

I have to admit that I do not know that many bands or projects from Bangladesh, but there are some interesting combos out there for sure. Amongst them are ChronicleS, known from their demonstrational efforts WarMachine and Astōdān. Especially that second one did put their name on the international market.

For a description about the Polish label Depressive Black Ambient Records, drenched in anesthetic pleasure and suffocating fumes, I would like to refer to one of the former reviews that I wrote for this unique family of coronated sinners and serpent magicians.

I did several reviews for material released on Poland-based label Depressive Black Ambient Records and I will do more in the future. This has to do with two things: the unusual yet splendid collection of projects on this label’s roster at the one hand (about all of them are at least as frenzy-minded as the owner of this family, Mister Chris) and the imminent philosophy behind it: not searching for anything at all.

This album does not deal with the heroic warriors from Snake Island (got it?), but it is a new effort by a solo-outfit of Olga Kann, called Cryo Depth. I have been extremely impressed and overwhelmed before by her creations Alarm Call 1986 (dealing with the nuclear disaster in Chernobyl) or Monolith (FYI: both have been reviewed by undersigned; in case of interest, click on the link below). So, I was quite enthralled when she did finish a new recording, called The Haunted Stories.
