D.A.M.

Hailing from Ouro Preto in Brazil, composer/ singer/ keyboardist Guilherme de Alvarenga came up with the idea to mix Classical Music's composition techniques (such as motif development and thematic unity) with melodic Death Metal, while attending music college in 2009.

Scaphandre

Scaphandre are the brainchild of a Frenchmen who calls himself Spasme. He formed the project in 2011 and one year later, Scaphandre self-released two EP’s, one at the very beginning of that year and one at the end of 2012. I will review both of them. First this. Both of them were originally self-released, but now they will be re-issued via Misandreproductions.

Aniara

Swedish combo Aniara were formed in 2011 as Oak. Because of more bands or projects with that moniker, they decided to change their name into Aniara in 2013. However, soon after the band split up and most members went on with their other bands or projects.

H5N1

A couple of years ago, the avian influenza gave me hope. Since I am an animal-friend, I am not talking about the birds that could die. No further comment, but let’s say it seemed to be a solution on the sickness called humanity, and the over-population of homo sapiens-masses…

Anyway, avian or bird influenza is also known as the H5N1-variant of influenza type-A, a virus that could have caused pretty nasty things (but it did not, for the WHO was too kind to, etc…) ;-(

Tetrarchate

Tetrarchate was born in November 2006, in province of Pesaro Urbino. Since the beginning the band included:  Andrea "Steve" Biondi (rhythm guitar), Nazario "Nazzo" Biscotti (rhythm and lead guitar), Alex "Max" Masini (drums), Luigi Coppone (vocals) and Simone "Wolf" Andruccioli (bass guitar).

Raum Kingdom

There's very little to tell about this Louth, Dublin based Irish Sludge/ Doom Metal band, because it comes dropping out of a clear blue sky, and info about the guys is really scarce, to the point that I'm quite unable to tell you when Dave Lee (vocals), Andrew Colohan (guitar), Ronan Connor (bass) and Mark Gilchrist (drums) founded the band.

Damn Your Idols

Aha...the return of a Belgian band which, in 2008, brought great expectations by releasing its self-titled debut full-length through the Apache Productions imprint, and then went on to play at the prestigious Graspop Metal Meeting festival, prior to suddenly splitting in 2009, and thus effectively crushing any anticipations of putting our country on the global Metal maps (and charts) with a band which could cut the chops!
